Publisher's summary

Private investigator Atticus Priest is asked to investigate after a man falls to his death from the tower of Salisbury Cathedral. But when a video is sent to the local newspaper showing the deceased man engaging in a compromising act with a minor, Atticus realizes that there's much more to this case than he initially thought.

Is it blackmail? Suicide? Or murder?

Two more bodies are found and two more videos are sent to the press. Atticus and his former colleague, detective chief inspector Mackenzie Jones, race against time to identify the culprit before he can strike again. With each new discovery, Atticus and Mack are forced to confront their own demons and navigate their own complicated feelings for one another.

As the investigation intensifies and the stakes become higher, Atticus and Mack race to unravel the mystery behind the macabre deaths. The question remains: will they be able to apprehend the perpetrator before it's too late? Get ready for a heart-stopping, suspenseful novel that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last word.

Very well written.

Love the characters, but it was read a little too fast. Not too predictable, like some mysteries.

Such a right story

From the first sentence in book 1 to the last sentence in book 3, Atticus and Mac make an amazing team. Hope there is a book four, engrossing story.

Superb story and storytelling

The entire Atticus (like the book) Priest series-so far-is unputdownable. I fully enjoyed all aspects and appreciate the main character is Nero-diverse and rather than seeing as a “disability” he views seeing the world differently than everyone else as a gift.
Also appreciate the audible app provides the speed selector as narrator fairly fled through the text with a driving urgency I found unsettling. It’s not Simon, it’s me. and I wanted to savor the stories a bit more so .90 suited. You have my recommendation to invest in all three books! Looking forward to additional installments in this series.

Another solid putting for Atticus

Starting to be a little tired of the throughline story. I prefer when Atticus shows us his the things he sees so we can guess too.

I Liked It

I enjoyed the book and the characters. The story was convoluted enough that I will need to reread it when the next in the series comes out. Overall this has been a good strong series.

Another Winner out of Salisbury!

Just the right fix while waiting for the next John Milton thriller. Couldn't stop listening, fell asleep and had to figure out where I left off.
Atticus Priest just keeps getting more interesting.
Simon Vance had a lovely voice.
The volume level was off on some parts but did not distract from the story. something Audible can fix.

Dawson never fails to entertain.

OK, I love John Milton. But I now have to admit I may sin with Atticus. These are amazing story lines, and different enough from each other to show a really fine author. Keep 'em coming, Mark!

Can’t wait till the next one!

Very clever story and plot line. I started listening to Atticus between Mark’s other books while waiting and now enjoy these as well.
