About this listen

The celebrated Penhallow Dynasty series continues in this deliciously witty and romantic Regency, perfect for the listeners of Eloisa James, Lisa Kleypas, and Sarah Maclean.

How many times can a rake get it wrong...before he becomes Mr. Right?

Philip Thane - rogue, rake, and scoundrel extraordinaire - hadn’t wanted to visit some dumpy provincial town to give a speech, but he’d struck a devil’s bargain with old Henrietta Penhallow, the imperious family matriarch. Nor did he expect that once he got there, he’d somehow be living the same day over and over again. It’s strange! It’s terrible!

On the other hand, it is giving him time to cozy up to the delectable, brainy Margaret Allen, in town to research the book she’s writing. Philip is sure she’ll fall starry-eyed into his arms, just as women always do.

But to his amazement, Miss Allen stands firm against his wiles, day after day. How can she resist his seductive charm? Why won’t she change her mind? What must he do to win her heart?

Maybe - just maybe - it isn’t Margaret who needs to change but rather a certain rogue, in love for the first time in his life, who will....

It was good in it’s own way. Reminded me of the movie Ground Hog Day. Not my favorite but helped pass the time.

This is a very boring book and hard to follow! The repeat after repeat of the story line got old real fast and I lost interest in the book after 8 chapters. I had enjoyed all the other books in the series so was very disappointed in this book! It was a waste of my time and money.

Very boring book!

Groundhog Day rip off from beginning to end. I’m done with this author. Write your own story or don’t bother.

Tedious!

Lisa Berne is an alchemist, transforming words into a magical, moving novel of the thorough transformation of one man from unconscious self-serving devolvement to true awakening.
She does it with gorgeous language, humor and heart. Her voice is truly unique among Romance authors.

Wonderful story, masterfully crafted, beautifully narrated

I felt obligated to write this review. Another reviewer criticized the book for it’s play on “Groundhog Day” the movie. Clearly the book does get it’s inspiration from the movie but it is so much more. This author is clearly well read and intelligent. She incorporates a Georgette Heyer style of writing and age appropriate language. I throughly enjoyed the hero’s path to redemption. I find the book to be many steps above ordinary regency romances being clever, well-written and thoughtful.

Very clever and well written

A waste of time just like groundhog day the movie. The others in the series were enjoyable. Very disappointed!

Groundhog day rewritten!

Books 1-5 are amazing so pre-ordered this one. It's like the kiss of death when I do that, no matter how long I have read an author's books. This was no exception. Repetition throughout. So much of the same word for word repeat that I started fast forwarding through to the next chapter where the repeats started all over again. It didn't help that the male lead character was completely unlikable throughout.

Please read her other books from this series, they are great! Can't recommend this one though.

SO disappointed
