About this listen

From the moment Danny Black met Rose Cassidy, he knew she’d be the death of him. But their electric connection and twisted love gave him a purpose beyond ruling Miami with his iron fist. Faking his own death and disappearing to St. Lucia was the only way he could escape the deadly underworld that brought them together. But his seclusion was sabotaged when a notorious assassin lured him out and made him an offer he couldn’t ignore.

So Danny was forced to decide whether to remain concealed and pray his enemies didn’t find him, or re-emerge and take back control of his town. His future.

James Kelly’s sole purpose was to find and kill the man who ordered the death of his family. Peace would never be his until then. Beau Hayley, a scarred former cop, was the key to his mission. He was supposed to kill her. Instead, he fell in love with her. Forced to accept that he could no longer fight his war and keep Beau safe from their enemies, he sought out the only man who could help him.

But by resurrecting the infamous Brit, James unwittingly started an even bigger war.

Two lethal men. One shared goal. Keep their women safe. And survive. But only one of them can come out the other side alive.

Interesting….

I love how the story line played out, However, I did see it stretching out to a 4th book. I’m glad we got semi closure on the relationship front and is curious to see who Goldie has been fixing her self up for. Too bad we have to wait months to find out what happens next or who the real enemy is. My money is on the Beau’s x boyfriend. He seems to be everywhere. Let’s see what happens next!!!!!

Very entertaining

I love all of Jodie’s characters. It was great to have them all together in this book. Very glad the story continues. Not so much a cliffhanger just aware there will be another book.

The Resurrection

Danny Black is back and with him he brought my faith that between him and the Enigma will find out who the bear is. This book was a whirlwind of epic proportions. It starts where the Engima left off. with James Kelly, the enigma, finds out that Danny Black is not dead. Danny comes from beyond the grave, so to speak, to learn that he was betrayed by someone because now people know he isn’t really dead This book is all about them working together to find the Bear and take down is operation. This book also deals with a lot of trauma and depression. The audiobook for this was amazing and it has all the narrators from the previous two books. I really love that you switch between all the couples (Danny and Rose; James and Beau) it offers a fresh intake into their world. Also, the cliffhanger at the end. My god I need the bear gone.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!

This is the third book in the Unlawful Men series that includes The Brit, The Enigma, and The Resurrection and what a powerhouse of a novel! The Brit introduces you to Danny and Rose, The Enigma introduces James and Beau, and The Resurrection brings them both together in what I thought was the final conclusion to this epic, suspenseful, thrill ride of a series, but then the rug was pulled out from under me. This series is full of suspense, lust, vengeance, violence, family, love and plenty of heart-pounding action that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wondering what could possibly happen next. It is told from the POV of all 4 main characters- Danny, Rose, James, and Beau - and brings the story full circle back in Miami and all of them fighting together against a common foe. You absolutely MUST read these in order or you will miss way too much and none of it will make sense. If you love a dark mafia trope with plenty of heat, action and intrigue then you can’t miss this series. Shane East, Vanessa Edwin, Emma Wilder and John Hartley were a dream team of narrators and absolutely took this whole series to a level very rarely experienced in audiobooks. If I could give it more than 5 stars I absolutely would.

Warning: Although I really feel this story has been told and the ending is exactly what I wanted right up to the last couple of minutes, this book does end on a cliffhanger and the fourth book isn’t expected until January of 2023. I really think this should be the last book and was somewhat disappointed to hear there was a fourth and that it won’t be out for so long.

Irritating Females

I couldn’t stand either of the main female characters in this book, especially Rose; self-absorbed and irritating 😠. Quick to get others messed up with their silliness. Narrators did a good job with characters.

Brilliantly dysfunctional and thrilling!

Absolutely fantastic performances! John Hartley, Emma Wilder, Shane East, and Vanessa Edwin are so wonderful with these difficult and dark characters. I once again had trouble connecting with Beau because she is so very broken and goes off in directions I just can't even imagine. Rose is the same. They are both unhinged at times, which sort of makes them perfect to The Enigma and The Brit, but still hard to connect with for me. That being said, I did connect with James, The Enigma. This thrilling story is dark and rife with suspense and broken people making mistakes and falling into passionate love that just plain drives each other NUTS and goes to some dark, dysfunctional places. Page turner for sure!
