About this listen
Life doesn't always work out the way we planned. Things happen that we have no control over, and circumstances seem overwhelming. I never thought I'd marry an abusive man - a man whose mental demons turned him into two different people. I never imagined being a widow at the age of 38. I never dreamed that one decision could so profoundly change my life and my viewpoint of mental illness. I didn't know how much I still had to learn about myself. Through these circumstances, I now know more about who God is. I also know who he is not. I know more about who I am now, and I know who I will not be anymore. I have always believed in my head God could work everything out for good and that He loved me - now I know in my heart. Head knowledge and heart knowledge are completely different. I invite you to listen to this story with an open mind and heart. Allow our story to shed light in dark places. Freedom is within these words - the freedom to be yourself, to be loved for who you are, and to bring your hurts into the light of God's love where he heals all things. Remember, love is the greatest of all things and it does conquer all. Love has already won.

In his signature style of stand-up comedy bits, Jeff Allen shares the inspirational and at times laugh-out-loud story of how God rescued him from alcoholism and despair through the book of Ecclesiastes. At times, his story is tragic and even tear-jerking—but in the end, it demonstrates that God takes a customized approach to reaching each of His children. Known as “the King of Clean Comedy,” Allen’s memoir won’t disappoint.

Story
On Death and Dying began as a theoretical book, an interdisciplinary study of our fear of death and our inevitable acceptance of it. It introduced the world to the now-famous five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. On Grief and Grieving applies these stages to the process of grieving and weaves together theory, inspiration, and practical advice, all based on Kübler-Ross' and Kessler's professional and personal experiences.

Infidelity, deceit, distrust, and shame. Unfortunately, these are recurring themes in many of today's marriages in America - even in the family-values-promoting, Christian-based Robertson family. With a romance that began in junior high, the couple got off to a rocky start but soon settled into married life and had two baby girls. Alan became a pastor in the church where his family had been members for years. Then, when Lisa had an affair, the heartache and the tension was very public.

Story
Marriage is mostly working on yourself and learning to deal with someone else’s imperfections. In this particular book, we are going to address a few of the most common, most important ones. First, the will and skill to forgive has made more people happier in their relationships than you can probably imagine. Next, one of our worst vices, the tendency to wrath, to explode in anger, is actually in all of us. So it’s one of the things that can make or break your marriage, and it relates to forgiveness as well.
