About this listen

Is it fate or just the Romeo effect?

Discover the hot and hilarious new stand-alone romantic comedy from USA Today best-selling author, Lila Monroe!

Seth Harding is the king of meet-cutes. If you get trapped in an elevator with a handsome stranger or stranded on a moonlit cruise with the man of your dreams, chances are it’s not fate bringing the two of you together. It’s Seth, somewhere, pulling the strings.

At least, that’s what I find out, when someone hires Seth to help win my heart. It would be romantic, if he weren’t all wrong for me.

And Mr. Right? Well, he might just be the guy behind the scenes.

Suddenly, my faith in soulmates is hitting a major complication. Seth is cynical, argumentative, and seriously irresistible. Soon, the sparks between us are impossible to ignore.

But can this hopeful romantic really find love with a man who engineers happily ever afters for a living? And when all the tricks and tests are stripped away, what makes two people truly meant to be? Find out in the latest laugh-out-loud listen from Lila Monroe, “the reigning queen of romantic comedy”!

Awe!

Well spend of hours of reading/listening to this lovely story. You just can’t go wrong with Lila Monroe. She had the ability to give sparks with April and Seth. He Fell in love with her, somewhat his client and it is against the rules in the Romeo inc. company. I truly love how the author show how much they love each other. This is a real fun-loving book! So far the Cupids series is giving me plenty of angst, sweet and awe moments, and the giddy sensation feelings! You just want to read/listen over and over!

Fresh, new approach meets sweet and steamy!

Three books in, and I’m absolutely loving this series! Lila Monroe is a breath of fresh air in the modern romance genre! I love that since she chooses to write modern issues into her narratives, she does so without exaggerating them to the extreme and without making them the focal points of the stories. Monroe’s forethought and attention to detail is superb. The stories are so well-written, and they flow so nicely. They’re unique, fun, hot, and oh so feel- good. This story in particular was definitely a new and fresh approach to modern rom-com. I really appreciate the take on relationships in this one—and the focus on hard work, commitment, and dedication as opposed to “kismet,” “fate,” and “what’s meant to be” as per “the universe.” I especially enjoyed that fresh and realistic approach. It was fulfilling in a way that “fated” romance is not, since I often find the those philosophical platitudes over-done and quite nonsensical to begin with. I do wish that more had come of the situation with James, however. That was a bit of vagary and a lose end that needed tying up, but nothing that detracted from the story. The characters were very unique and had lots of personality. It was an easy listen, narrated by two of the best to ever grace a recording studio; I love Andi Arndt and Joe Arden! They’re the perfect duo! Awaiting the audio recording of the next book in the series!

Fun Hitch Style Rom Com

This was a fun Ron Com in the style of the movie "Hitch." Seth sets up the initial meeting, set to make you look good and get that certain someone to notice you in a way they may not have before. The rest is up to you. However, things go wrong when Seth is spotted in the background and becomes the target of the target.
Shenanigans, hijinx, ensue.
Narration is the best - again Joe Arden and Andi Arndt? Who's better these days? Nobody, that's who. Buy it just for that reason and you still won't go wrong.

This was straight up adorable!

4 stars!

This was straight up adorable. Lila Monroe has written another fun and flirty story with The Romeo Effect. This is Book #3 in her Cupid’s Series. The laugh out loud moments were endless, and this mixed with emotion and heart of Seth and April’s connection made this so enjoyable. Seth is the king of meet-cutes. He literally works for a company that sets up meet cutes moments for their clients and the object of their affection. April owns a floral boutique. The two together have completely different views on love and romance. One of Seth’s clients was obsessed with April. He was borderline stakerish and once Seth realizes his feeling for April he has his work cut out for him. He spends some time trying to fight their connection and his attraction due to employee/client reasons but eventually April turns down his client’s advances and the two give into their attraction. Their chemistry was explosive. I loved the side character development. April’s new roommate Kate completely intrigued me and I am really looking forward to reading her story in The Break Up Artist. Lila Monroe is quickly becoming a new favourite author of romantic comedy and has written a true gem in The Romeo Effect.

Loved Andi Arndt and Joe Arden! Their dual narration is perfection as always!

Cute

The story is cute but formulaic. Same type of story I've read repeatedly, but it's hard to find a different type of theme that hasn't been written before.
