Publisher's summary

To escape exile, Aidan Paytah has had to prove himself worthy - every second of every damn day. He fought with everything he had to earn his precarious place on the Huracán team of dragon-shifter enforcers. He can’t fail or afford distractions, no matter how temptingly sweet. Total loyalty to the clans and dedication to his team is the only way.

Sera Morrison lost her parents and her husband in short order, leaving her a single mother running her family winery alone. Nothing could ever have prepared her for the discovery that she’s a destined dragon mate. But once she finds out, there’s only one man she wants - the one who walked away.

However, the Alliance Council has its own agenda. They want to use her as a political pawn and force a mating that could ultimately kill her to save the High King. Aidan has no choice but to kidnap her, even if it means their close proximity reinforces their own mating bond - and mating with him could end up being a far worse fate for Sera....

Dreaming their way into forever

The danger. The excitement. The will they, won’t they. The swoons. The dreams. I loved it all. Ayden and Sarah’s fated mates dragon shifter star crossed lovers romance with a side of crazy stalker was romantic suspense gold. The book will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. Ayden is a dragon shifter who has been added to the Huracan enforcers whose job is protecting humans from dragons, putting out dragon fires, and keeping the secret of dragon kind. As a dragon orphan, a group that is frequently killed, he feels he has more to prove than most. Sarah is a human and also a single mother and widow. When dragon fires and potential danger threaten her and her son, Ayden and his team begin protecting her. There is overwhelming attraction and chemistry between them but they are both fighting it for different reasons. The reasons only become more complicated once Sarah shows dragon sign. There is a lot of baggage to unpack and hoops to jump through to get to their HEA and the journey there was delicious suspenseful perfection. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline and was full of sweet moments, steamy scenes, fighting, dangerous situations, evil actors, loyal friends and family, painful pasts, political machinations, mystery, revelations, plot twists, big feels, and laughs. This is a standalone and you will not be lost if you have not read the other books in the series but there are some overarching storylines that you’ll enjoy more if you read the books in order. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Brian Pallino and Melissa Moran did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I really love the added dimension listening brings to a story.
