Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Story
When Fitzwilliam Darcy makes an impetuous offer of marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bennet, he is convinced they have as good a chance as any for a harmonious life together. That is, until an overheard conversation changes everything, and Darcy realizes he is now joined in perpetuity to a woman who loathes the very sight of him. Elizabeth Bennet's expectations for matrimonial accord were never very high, having accepted Mr. Darcy's proposal in a fit of pique, not love. Still, she is determined to make the best of her situation. But life at Pemberley is not at all what she imagined.

ELIZABETH BENNET is determined that she will put a stop to her mother’s plans to marry off the eldest Bennet daughter to Mr. Collins, the Longbourn heir, but a man that Mr. Bennet considers an annoying dimwit. Hence, Elizabeth disguises herself as Jane and repeats her vows to the supercilious rector as if she is her sister, thereby voiding the nuptials and saving Jane from a life of drudgery. One warning, two cautions, and a note: WARNING: In deference to a truth universally acknowledged that men do not behave the same when no women are present as they do in mixed company, this vagary does have occasional uses of profanity. The men in my life would consider it amusing but naïve to afford the same semantics of conversation for wholly different circumstances such as these, or they would should one of them choose to read it. This vagary proposes an alternate telling of the original Pride and Prejudice and considers what may have happened should the characters have been afforded a ...

Of Friendship and Forgiveness is a sweet, clean, low angst Pride and Prejudice variation of 62,000 words written from a Christian perspective. Excerpt: Elizabeth lay back onto the grass allowing the sun to warm her face and the breeze to tousle her hair. The gloriously vivid blue sky was reflected perfectly in the still end of the loch while the waterfall at the other end sent a cooling mist into the air. Perfect. This was a perfectly lovely day in a perfectly lovely place. She thought about the series of events that had brought her here to this remote estate in Scotland, alone except for ...

One warning, two cautions, and two notes: WARNING: Portions of this book focus on some of George Wickham’s worst crimes against young ladies. While the revenge taken is not fully or graphically detailed, it is extreme. “He had certainly formed such a plan, and without meaning that it should effect his endeavour to separate him from Miss Bennet, it is probable that it might add something to his lively concern for the welfare of his friend.” Pride & Prejudice, chapter 45 This vagary proposes an alternate path for the characters of Pride and Prejudice. Unless one knows the value of loyalty, he cannot appreciate the cost of betrayal. What if Darcy and Elizabeth met weeks before the Meryton assembly? What if there is no barely “tolerable” remark to have Elizabeth rejecting Mr. Darcy’s affections, but rather a dip in a cold creek that sets her against him? What if Mr. Bennet is a renown Shakespearean scholar who encourages Darcy to act the role of Petruchio from Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” to bring Elizabeth’s Katherina persona to the line? ELIZABETH BENNET’s pride has her learning a difficult lesson: Loyalty is ...

Could have been much better with a narrator.
This was a very good story, good characterization and well written humor. It just could have been so much better with a narrator. This computer generated narration mispronounces a number of words, has no inflection at all in characters or conversation conversations. It’s just a disappointment. It needs to be refined much better before it’s used. If you can suffer through it, the story is good.

Interesting mistress scenario
This book was never boring. I enjoyed the conversations between Elizabeth and Darcy. This book addresses some important topics about society. There is one particularly spicy scene for mature audiences only. But also not overflowing with scenes of intimacy. I would have loved a HEA for Georgiana, but it was lacking in that aspect.

Ruin of Elizabeth? Oh no!
Interesting twisting story. So sad in the beginning but keep going. Hate the Virtual voice. Still calling Rosings as Rossing. And other words.

Well Done
The dialog is witty and engaging, far better than your average JAFF. There is genuine feeling and a realistic balance of happiness and sadness. Yes, the plot at times is illogical and the virtual voice mispronounced many, many words. Still well worth a listen!

Way too explicit.!!!
The narration was decent. I must admit I don't understand why every virtual voice Pronounces the word BOW to rhyme with. S o

Too dark
I do not like my Elizabeth Bennett portrayed as a fallen woman. She is supposed to be virtuous
