About this listen

Aurora Stone knows what it means to keep the rules. She’s lived with the expectations of the people around her. The only person whose expectations aren’t met? Hers.

In a moment of rebellion and self-loathing, Aurora decides to break the rules. Only the list seems endless and Aurora is a little overwhelmed by it.

But when she sees Landon sat at the bar watching her, she makes a split-second decision that might just change her life, one broken rule at a time.

For Landon Peters, everything changes the moment he meets Aurora. His world begins to unravel and his sense of control seems lost.

The list of broken rules quickly exceeds the number of rules they keep as they embark on this whirlwind adventure of control and chaos.

With control out of his reach, Landon might just push to enforce the rules between himself and Aurora in a desperate attempt to reclaim the control he craves. After all, he told Aurora he would help her break her rules but he hadn’t planned on it being at the expense of his own.

Will this British bad boy and London Socialite find their Happy Ever After together?

Great Bundle

This is a great bundle and definitely better to read or listen to all at once as each one flows right into the next. The addition of Melody's story was a nice though heartbreaking surprise even though we knew the outcome of that one. The narration is done really well and while I would have like to hear this with an accent I did appreciate there was no attempt at one.

Delightful!

The Rules Series box set gives the reader the perfect opportunity to read this incredible story non-stop. I read and then listened to it and can say that it's one of my favorite Hanleigh Bradley creations.
Since the day that Landon Peters and Aurora Stone met over drinks, they have been inseparable. They knew, almost immediately, that they fit well together and loved many of the same things in life. Shortly after their first evening together, Aurora was ready to move in with Landon, but she was terrified that her mother was going to be angry because she didn't confide in her. The crux of this series is that everyone lives by a set of rules and Aurora and Landon were intent on breaking as many as possible. Melissa Stone is not an easy-going mother; in fact, she's a control freak and always has been with her two daughters. When she discovers that Aurora is living with Landon, Melissa becomes that mother no one wants to claim. Aurora's father is the peacemaker and empathetic soul who tries to keep mother and daughter on good terms with each other. He knows his wife is tough on the children, but it's because she only wants the best for them all. Aurora and her father are landing in Los Angeles for a week of working together, when everything goes wrong. The family gets word that there's been an accident, but there's no further update. Landon will not accept that he's lost Aurora, just as they were starting their life together. It's a beautifully written story laced with tenderness and emotion. The characters are vividly drawn with layers of personality and charm.
A Secret Melody, the fourth book in the series, brings the past into the present and tells the story of Melody Peters, the late sister of Landon and Aiden. She is mentioned through the entire series as the one painful experience that Landon can't seem to shake. His baby sister haunts his memory each time he sees her beautiful photo or remembers how wonderfully she played the piano. There were so many times that they shared their love for music at that piano. Since we already know the ending, it's her life that is celebrated. At 16, Melody meets a boy, Zach Mulligan, who is the undeniable love of her short life. In a short time, they came to love each other and really don't want to spend their summer break away from one another. As they say goodbye for 6 weeks, little do they know it's forever. I was filled with sadness, but then I read the epilogue. It's bittersweet and yet so perfect in the circle of life
Stacy Hill does a wonderful job with the narration. Her strong, dynamic voice brings each character to life with plenty of personality!

A Great Box Set

I am voluntarily leaving this review. This box set is great! It is an instalove, smutty, calmer 50 shades type of book. The narrator for this box set has done an amazing job, I do think it would be better if a man actually read Landon’s part, but the narrator has done an excellent job and voicing him as well as Aurora’s parts!

Broken Rules:
Aurora wants to quit being the perfect person in everyone’s eyes. She wants to break her family’s rules that were given to her and she has followed perfectly all her life. With the help of her friends Tallulah and Cameron, they set out to a bar where she can finally start breaking her rules. Landon has his own set of rules that he finds himself breaking when he meets Aurora.

What they both thought would be one night of bliss, they find themselves drawn to each other when they both are in need of comfort.

Enforced Rules:
Aurora and Landon find themselves in a bit of a tough spot when it comes to their relationship. With the miscommunication they both have to figure out how to go on with their lives.

With her broken heart, Aurora finds herself getting closer with her estranged sister. With both Aurora and Landon dealing with family issues, they don’t see each other for awhile until Landon spots her and tries to fix the wrong he created.

Revised Rules:
With their miscommunication problems fixed, Aurora and Landon find themselves back together and agreeing that nothing will tear them apart. That is until a new issue arises that could cost them both everything.

With the new revised rules they have created, they find themselves ready to take on the world as long as they have each other.

A Secret Melody:
This book will have you in your feels. It gives you a chance to see the Melody that Landon sees, and watch her grow as a person in her last months.

Melody was a quiet person, one that never really made friends. Until she is forced to show the new guy around school. Zach moved all his life and was finally placed in boarding school so he didn’t fall behind in his studies. What started out as a friendship quickly grew until Melody was taken from the world to young.

I definitely recommend this box set. Although the first two books are great by showing the different views of what happened and what the characters thought, it was a bit repetitive. Some of the chapters in the books were repeated from previous chapters, and the the Audible had parts that weren’t in the book or didn’t match right with the book. With that said, it didn’t take away the quality. It was still a good read! I can’t wait to start on Tallulah’s story!

Monotone Narrator........

The story was good but very hard for me to get into because the narrator was very monotone and lacked any emotional affliction when it came to any emotion the characters were expressing. I felt like the story was being read word for word. Some may like the story's read without the emotional aspect, but it was a little difficult for me to get into but still a good story.

The Rules Series!

This series follows the relationship of Landon and Aurora. I am glad this series was finally put into one book since the first ones end in dreaded cliffhangers. This series follows Rory and Landon's journey. Both wealthy and English. She has lead a sheltered life and controlled by her parents. She meets Landon out and he helps her break a few rules and live a little. The stories are steamy and an intriguing journey. I think the narrator did a good job.

This series seemed to fly by! It was so good.

To quote another reviewer this book was “unputdownable”. Broken Rules grabbed me from the start. I couldn’t wait to see what rules would be broken next and along the way I began to root for all of the characters involved :). It took a moment to adapt to the way the character’s perspective changes as after the switch you experience prior events from the partner’s perspective. I am listening to the audiobook edition containing all four books and Stacy Hill does a good job portraying the characters. This was a steamy easy read I could not put down.

tiresome repetition

These is a full series of 3.5 books.
Each book has 2 POVs - a female and a male. Other than cost, I never understood the reason of using 1 narrator when there's more than 1 POV. It really takes away from the experience. In this instance it made it a difficult listen, which I did not enjoy.
The stories themselves are nice, but not much more than that, I'm afraid.
The "breaking the rules" theme seemed to me forced, at times, and the repetition of these words was tiresome.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
