Delightfully Entertaining Stories!

These stories are such delightfully entertaining, romantic comedies. In Chase Me we meet Sage, Carter and her 3 girl friends. I loved the three friends and some of their antics are hilarious. Sage is fun loving, feisty, and a little crazy, but you just can't help but love her. Carter is a totally delectable hero. In Kiss Me we see how Sage gets her P.I. Business going. Her first employee is a hoot and promises some fun situations in the future. We also get to meet quite the psycho ex-girlfriend. In Love Me Sage proves to be a magnet for trouble and Carter continues to struggle with convincing her to be careful. You just gotta love this couple and it was nice hearing about how Ophelia and Bridget are doing with their love interests. Rescue me wraps it up with Sage actually avoiding getting hurt…well almost! She is such a fun loving character and her antics are always comical. Unfortunately Carly Kincaid didn’t give any of the characters a voice of their own and basically just read the stories throughout. She had a pleasant enough voice so once I realized she was just going to read to me I just sat back and listened to the stories and enjoyed some good laughs along the way. Thank you Sharon Kleve for such entertaining stories!

Narrator not so good

Story was good, but the author really didn't do the story justice... I think with a better author this would be great!!

Great Read

The Sage McGuire Romance Series was a great read by Sharon Kleve. This box set consists of; Chase Me, Kiss Me, Love Me, and Rescue Me. Chase Me (A Sage McGuire Romance Book #1) was a great read by Sharon Kleve.Sage McGuire had a job that she loved. That all changed in the blink of an eye when her long-time boss, Mr. Smithfield, died in an accident. His semi-worthless son, Daniel, takes over Smithfield Laboratoriesand Sage realizes that its time to become a PI like she’s dreamed of. She has mind blowing sex with Sergeant Carter Morgan of the Portland Police Department and then mistakes him for a serial killer. She ends up coming back for more when she realizes that he isn’t a serial killer at all. Kiss Me was a great read by Sharon Kleve.Sage McGuire, Private Investigator, is up to her ears in trouble again. She left her old job to open McGuire Investigations. Unfortunately she was grazed by a bullet to the temple and ends up in the emergency room when she steals back her best friend’s uncle’s dog from a psychotic loan shark. Carter’s conniving and scary ex-girlfriend, FBI Special Agent Mia Williams is back in town. Mia is determined to rekindle her relationship with Carter and is used to getting what she wants no matter what. Love Me was a great read by Sharon Kleve. Every since Carter first met Sage, he has been hooked and its been a roller coaster ride. Everything seems to be settling back to normal, that is until Mr. Smithfield appears in Sage’s dreams to get help avenging his death. Sage agrees to help and even helps solve the murder and helps put his wicked wife in jail. With everything going on, Sage forgets to buy Carter a Valentine’s Day gift. Rescue Me was a great read by Sharon Kleve. Sage McGuire now has her self-defense skills down pat. She has a secret admirer known as Smiley Emoji,a majorly confusing case, and a purse snatcher she had to fend off. She is obsessed with her lack of cooking skills but still ends up flunking a cooking class. Even through all that she is determined to fix Carter, her boyfriend, a gourmet meal he will never forget. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

A Struggle

I struggled to finish this book. In fact, I removed it from my phone three times. I did listen to it because it was selected with my one credit this month.

The most troublesome aspect was the narrator. She read with little emotion and her timing was not fluid. It was like listening to my elementary school students read aloud, one sentence at a time.

There is another reason I did not like the narrator's performance and it might seem petty. The first time I put the book away it was because she pronounced "Oregon" in a way that residents do not use. I live here. The way she said was unprofessional in my opinion . I feel she should have researched the way locals and national newscasters say it.

The story made me feel like I was reading my students' work. I felt like she included too many side stores and characters that don't help develop the main story. How does taking classes move the story along? How do the events with the K-9 move the story? How did the situation of the office assistant's romance help? There was not a strong sense of time passing between the one night stand and the main characters moving in together. Is it necessary to share the amount of times a couple has sex and the details?

I could continue with my list of unnecessary plot items, but I will not. I will be exchanging the book, though.
