Editorial reviews

Walter Zimmerman gives an outstanding performance of the classic novel The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy. He enunciates each word with care, which lends his narration an air of refinement. The setting of the story is the French Revolution during the Reign of Terror. By day, protagonist Sir Percy Blakeney is a playboy English aristocrat. But by night, he dons a disguise, and then rescues members of the French nobility from death by guillotine. His death-defying missions are sure to enthrall listeners hungry for adventure.

Captivating and intriguing. Listened to it while on a road trip and was wide awake in the middle of the night with interest of how this mysterious story would turn out.

I can see why this is a classic!

The Scarlet Pimpernel is a fantastic book however Walter Zimmerman reads this beautiful book like he's reading the nightly news report... it's so annoying if it weren't on my ipod I'd have thrown it at the wall. I am an avid audiobook listener and I will never buy another book narrated by this person.
