About this listen

As the son of an enemy, Kieran never expected to find a family with the Kincaid Pack...or a true mate's bond.

After barely escaping his abusive family, wolf shifter Kieran McAllister struggles to find his place in the Kincaid Pack. Especially with the pushy but gorgeous second-in-command showing up every time Kieran turns around...and making him want things he shouldn't.

The traumatized wolf who continuously refuses Bennett Young's help has begun to haunt his dreams. But if there's one thing he knows, it's that tiger shifters don't have mates. So why can't Bennett get Kieran's sad eyes out of his head?

Despite their differences, Kieran and Bennet find something they never expected in each other. Just as their bond begins to grow though, Kieran's past threatens to destroy the very pack they both have been fighting to protect.

Contains mature themes.

Absolutely Wonderful. Another Winner!

This is another winner for Kiki Clark. It just keeps getting better and better. The characters are well developed and interesting, the story fantastic. I love the Kincaid Pack. I love the characters growth, along with their loyalty, caring, and love they have for each other. I liked the fact that we are being introduced to new characters, which means this series can continue. Gosh I hope so. Kiki could not have chosen a better narrator for this series. Kirt Graves is doing a fantastic job with his narration and giving each character life. I'm so looking forward and hoping to listening to the continuation. I highly recommend you all jump on board and listen to this series. You will not be disappointed.☆☆☆☆☆🤗

Good story. Good narration.

The story continues the Kincaid pack series with Bennett, the enforcer, and Kieran, the son of the McAllister pack alpha, as the main characters. The story felt a little slower in the beginning but picked up the pace with plenty of action. Bennett and Kieran have a very different dynamic from the one shared by Rick and Kai in the first book.

The romance was engaging, and the coflicts kept the tension in the story high. I did notice a few flaws in logic from the characters and from the direction of certain plot points. This is what I get for taking logic and reasoning classes, an inability to ignore logic flaws in urban fantasy novels...

Once again, the narration by Kirt Graves was performed well, and I have started on the next book already.

I was so ready for more Bennet

The Second and His Bonded is the 2nd book in Kiki Clark’s Kincaid Pack series. While each book features a different couple and it’s own storyline – there are several story arcs running through the series as a whole, so you’ll want to start with The Alpha and His King and listen to them in order.

I admit – I was kind of in love with Bennet by the end of book 1 and was really looking forward to his story. He was so amazing with Kai that I knew he’d be awesome with whomever Clark paired him with. I wasn’t wrong. Kieran and Kai are a lot alike and I do wish there had been a bit more to differentiate the romantic/relational aspect of this story – but I still enjoyed it. Partially because of Bennet’s endearing personality and the interwoven mystery/suspense of the series. Kieran is understandably prickly and watching him bloom as a person and with Bennet was so much fun.

While The Deputy and His Enforcer is already out in ebook – I’ll be waiting for the audio due sometime this Summer. Because…

Narration:
Kirt Graves is wonderful in this. I like that the various character voices are consistent from book to book. It makes it easy to listen to them back to back (yup, I relistened to The Alpha and His King again). I’m definitely looking forward to more of this series and of Graves in particular.

Book #2….so good!

I was afraid that after Rick and Kai’s story it would be hard to get into the next characters. How wrong I was. Kieran’s back story is so abusive that even in the Kincade pack he has a hard time trusting anyone. But Bennet breaks through his barriers and the two forge a great bond and are so good for the pack!! The story is very interesting and of course Kirt Graves is a master narrator. He’s so good at it I feel like I’m there!!!

voice/story miss match

the story is good, the performance (as a performance) was good. but there is an elephant in this room. the narrator was not the right choice for this story. and it causes a severe disconnect from the story. both main characters are supposed to be 20-30 ish African American men. I am sorry to the narrator, but he sounds like a 50 to 60 yr old white or Native American man. the miss match causes this to sound like the old cowhand or the village elder is retelling the erotic love story of a black gay couple he used to know back in the day, in way too much detail. I would love to hear this narrator on a western themed story, but was severely wrong choice for this novel. imho
