Pretty good...

I prefer JA's shifter bound series.... that is JA's best writing...

This book falls under the Mackenzie Brother series... The female is the sister or daughter-in-law or something... of Cameron's new wife...

The smex of course is great... in that regency way... this kinda feels a lot like Ian's book...but Ian's book was way way better. I still liked it though...

Narration was great.. This is Dawe's best type of narration... (regency-like)...

Great credit if you have the Mackenzie Brothers series.. this falls after book 4... next comes Cam's son book... I hope it's better than this one...

Good but not great

The Seduction of Elliott McBride is the 5th book in the Mackenzie / McBride series from Jennifer Ashley. It is my least bit favorite book so far.....but that doesn't make it bad...just the others have been so good!

While there's plenty of steamy scenes in this book....there's not a ton of real "content". The main conflict is within Elliot's mind. He suffers from PTSD and it is a struggle he needs Joanna's help with.

Overall...it's a must because it's part of the series. It's a good book that could easily be a stand alone.

My least favorite part of this book is that it has the least amount of interactions with the rest of the Mackenzie family. They are present in this book...but not as much as the previous books.

Sometimes crazy men are the sexiest!

This book has a lot going for it, My personal favorite, a crazy person who knows they are crazy!! Can you beat that?
A historical afghan war vet. PTSD and second chance at love, now come on how can you go wrong with a recipe like that.

Ms Ashley does deliver. With new characters that blend in seamlessly with the old, glimpses of old well loved characters and a love affair that proves that yes! in deed opposites attract and first loves rule.

"Smile Full of Sin"

What did you love best about The Seduction of Elliot McBride?

Reviews lead me to think this story would be too dark, but this was not the case.
I have listened/read many of the great historical romances e.g. Kathleen Widdowiess The Wolf and the Dove, Julie Garwood's Honor's Splendor and I have to say that this book ranks right up there. How clever of this author to weave a modern day dilemma into a historical novel. It is hard to impress me with the current day historical novels, but this one does.
Well edited and a great listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elliott "why n Devil would you knit socks?"

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Note: must use new 1.25x speed to get the full impact of the story.
I purchased this author due to Ms Dawe reading this series. I have about 5 stories from this author and they all are good entertainment. Ms Dawe brings this delightful series to full life.
Her male and children voices are simply great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Our heroine, Julianna is simply the best. Strong, focused and she stands by her man. The caring she shows can humble you.

LOVED THIS BOOK, WISH I COULD FIND MORE LIKE IT!

Where does The Seduction of Elliot McBride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a very, very long time!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seduction of Elliot McBride?

There were too many to list, but I loved the slightly damaged Hero who was so compassionate and loving, and I loved the Heroine's unwavering love. I do not enjoy sappy hero's, Elliot was far from sappy. I cannot abide a over-the-top strong-willed heroine, one who is argumentative, misreads everything, or reads slights into every action. This heroine was not that. It was so refreshing not to have "misunderstandings" that torpedo the relationship. Loved this book!!

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ms Dawe's voice takes me a few minutes to get used to, but then it is fine. She ends her sentences emphatically, almost harshly. However, it did not, in any way, detract from the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely!

MMMMM Yes!

I love Jennifer Ashley and all her historical romance novels. She seduces her readers with more than just steamy scenes. she actually incorporates interesting plots and characters with depth. This book is no exception. The back stories to the troubled Elliot makes the lulls between steamy romance scenes much more interesting and Elliot is troubled, but not only that he also has some shocking extra baggage, but Juliana take it in stride and let their love bloom.
