Mystery. Wine. Humor.

An enjoyable murder mystery. Weird detective. Some good humor. Wine lesson.
I listened to audio version. Narrator did a good job.

Interesting

It was well read but too slow paced for me. Loved the narration though. It just kept me wanting to rush through it though.

Great detective novel

It quite a while since I last listened to a Luca mystery. And picking this up was like a reunion with an old friend.
Good solid detective mystery. The type of book where you just want to keep reading /listening.
And great narration by Peter Lerman.

So, so

While the story line was interesting for a murder mystery, the entirety of the book was very simplistic.

The sing-song narrator totally ruined it for me. The characters lacked depth and a identification. A stronger narrator would have helped a lot!

A great mystery!

I liked the way in which this book is structured. Having the points of view of both, one of the suspects and the police investigating the case is truly original. Particularly when having the suspect's POV is not a way to truly cleaning him up from the crime as he is, at the very least, a very unreliable narrator. That makes it not only original but also truly engaging.

I enjoyed the rapport between Luca and Vargas, and I hope they will continue to work together.

The mystery is very well done and keeps you guessing until the end.

Peter Lerman does a good job narrating this story.

Great Mystery

"The Serenity Murder (A Luca Mystery #3)" by Dan Petrosini. I enjoyed this book. Some sex, greed and murder. The main character Luca kept me in suspense. A detective story which keeps moving in a fast pace. The characters of Marilyn, John and Gideon come together to make this story believable. Don't ask for what you want to happen to someone because it can become a reality.

Great mystery to pass the time.

So this is book 3 of the series and I haven't read any of the first 2 books.

The author did a good job on the character developments. The story is told in a first person point of view and from the point of several characters. The switching of characters was through their own chapters, which is named after them so you don't get too confused when reading/listening.

It starts off quite slow, but when the mystery is revealed then it is very interesting to read/listen to.

The Narrator did a good job reading, but the issue was, there was no difference between characters, so it can break the illusion of hearing the story and trying to remember that it is a different character and not one of the other multiple ones that are talked about.

Good police procedural

Once the mystery got going, I really enjoyed this police procedural story. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is that the first 1/3 of the book was slow and did not seem to be going anywhere with information about wines and art and no action. But once there was a murder and Detective Luca got involved then the story picked up and became a good mystery. Because of the isolated island that the murder occurred upon, there were only 3 viable suspects but the story still took many turns that kept the reader guessing until the end.
