About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby comes an all-new novel, The Setup, in her Single in Seattle series, featuring Keaton Williams!

I’m a sucker for pretty things. Give me a roaring engine in a souped-up vintage muscle car with cherry red paint and brand-new leather interior, and that’s about as pretty as anything I could ask for. I’m a simple man who doesn’t need or want the kind of wild celebrity that my father has. I restore one-of-a-kind vehicles and sell them to the highest bidder. Usually, that bidder just also happens to be a celebrity.

But no matter how often my cars steal the spotlight, staying out of it is my number one priority.

Which is why Sydney Sterling is absolutely out of the question.

She’s a country music superstar. She’s in the spotlight. People can’t get enough of her.

It doesn’t matter that our one night together was hotter than a full-throttle muscle car or that she’s the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.

I. Need. To. Stay. Away.

And I was doing a great job of just that until our friends set us up on a blind date, and now here I am, sitting across from the only woman who made me want more. How am I going to handle the fact that the rest of the world wants her almost as much as I do?

And do I even have a choice in the matter?

Fabulous!

I am a huge fan of Kristen Proby, her With Me in Seattle series, and now her Single in Seattle series with the second generation stories. If you love these series then you will love this one as well. Glimpses of the extended family are always welcome and don't disappoint here either. Plenty of steam, not too much angst, a good story and outstanding narration make this a perfect weekend listen.

Joe Arden and Emma Wilder were the professional perfection that I have come to expect from their performances and this book holds up to that high standard.

The Setup is a whole experience!

Keaton and Sidney are amazing together and on the page. I love Sidney's independence, determination and drive, she knows what she wants and goes after it. There is no shame or embarrassment, she owns her desires and draws out the best in Keaton. Keaton is completely swoon worthy. He has learned the best way to treat a woman from his dad Luke Williams, but has some major hang ups around fame. With Sidney being a famous country singer, this is a hurdle Keaton will need to tackle if he wants more than a friends with benefits arrangement with Sidney.

This book made me insanely happy to read! There is something about the Montgomery/Williams clan that just makes me feel good. From the first page I loved being back in Seattle and enjoyed every moment of this story.

7/28 I absolutely loved and devoured the ebook and the audiobook made this story even better. The audiobook of The Setup was an experience! From the fantastic narration by Emma Wilder and Joe Arden to the original music tastefully included. Emma Wilder did an exceptional Joe Arden voice in her chapters and Joe Arden brought it for sure. After reading the ebook i didn't think I could love this book more and then I was proven wrong.

I received an arc and alc of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

Fantastic

I thought this was so good!
I just loved Keaton. He reminded me so much of Luke Williams, well of course he did, he’s Luke’s son.
Sydney and him were perfect together. I loved how they navigated their relationship while remaining true to themselves.
It was great seeing all the OG’s and the camaraderie.
Great story! And I loved the narrators

Keaton and Sydney have all the FEELS!

The Setup by Kristen Proby is the newest “Single in Seattle” story featuring Keaton Williams, Luke & Natalie’s son (Come Away With Me) and Sydney Sterling, Grayson Sterling’s sister (The Scandal). Watching the next generation of the Montgomery/Williams families find their HEA’s is so fun. Keaton loves what he does and is super successful at restoring vintage and rare cars. The one thing he absolutely despises is the spotlight and he avoids it at all costs. Will he let this way of thinking keep him from finding his forever love? Sydney Sterling is country music’s sweetheart. Unfortunately, she receives some devastating news that sends her to see her brother in Seattle. The “boys” sure seem to get together quite a few times for some really fun times in this story. The Setup is a fun and quick read with lots of steam! So much fun visiting with all of the Montgomery/Williams characters. Totally recommend The Setup by Kristen Proby!
The audiobook is narrated by Joe Arden and Emma Wilder, two of my favorite narrators. Each narrator does a great job of bringing Keaton Williams and Sydney Sterling to life with passion, heat, emotion, and some pretty great banter. I totally enjoyed listening to The Setup by Kristen Proby.

Subtly provocative and sexy.

The story and.characters were interesting. I liked that there was workable resolutions to high anxiety when it comes to love. Great book.

The original music MAKES this audio!

Swoon! I don’t know why I continue to be surprised when I fall more in love with the newest Montgomery male each time. Seriously. Nate is my #1 book boyfriend, Greyson a very close 2nd. And there’s Luke & Leo, Ike and Vaughn. I swear they’re all amazing. But there’s something special about Keaton. Maybe it’s because I’m an introvert like him and I prefer my alone time while still wanting to be surrounded by my huge family. I don’t know but he’s *chefs kiss*. Kristen Proby put all of the best book boyfriend qualities into him. Sydney is also a force to be reckoned with. I love that things weren’t always so easy for her and we get to see her make the conscious decision to not give up and then work her tail off to get it back. And I think we can all agree that the parts with Leo were some of the best. It was nice to see him take more of a role in this story. I also love the little teasers of what is to come…Drew’s job and boss, Maya’s newfound freedom, and I really can’t wait to see who can reel Liam in even the tiniest bit LOL! A splendid addition to the next generation of Montgomerys!

I forgot how much I love this story. In a family of favorite male main characters Keaton instantly rises to a new favorite. This was my second time through the book and I listened to it on audio this time. Joe Arden and Emma Wilder absolutely knock it out of the park. This is the first series I have read with different narrators for each book and I have to say I like it more than I thought I would. But I think my absolute favorite part was the addition of Sydney’s songs interjected into the script where they are referenced in the book. I was so not expecting the first one and it added so much depth to the telling of the story. I had heard the songs before but didn’t realize they were in the audiobook. I absolutely loved it!

Another amazing listen and story. Loved Keaton and Sidney

The Setup, is the 4th book in the Single in Seattle series, but can be read as a standalone.
Kristen has once again knocked it out of the park with this storyline.
From the beginning we are sucked by Keaton Montgomery who from the beginning shows his vulnerability. He’s smart, loves hard, but has been hurt and has trust issues. Sidney is a firecracker country music superstar who everyone wants. She’s hit a hurdle in her professional life and had to navigate the emotions that come with that. She’s trying to get back to the basics. She was struggling to find herself in music.
As fate would have it these two are thrown into each others universe once again. Loved the sass , the banter, the undeniable chemistry, the push and pull they had. Of course, we have a couple of angsty and juicy moments in the book. Loved seeing the family dynamics throughout the book. Loved getting an update on the growing Montgomery Clan. Loved this story. And, I recommend the Audiobook Joe Arden and Emma Wilder were perfection. The portrayal of the different characters just sucks you in and you can’t stop listening.
