About this listen

The shadow of dread has fallen. Beneath it, all men quail.

The Great Calamity has returned, destroying all in his wake. Reeling from the destruction of King's Point and the death of his uncle, Elyon Daecar makes at once for Varinar to discern the state of the city. What he finds gives him small cause for hope. Through the spreading darkness, thin shards of light remain. They must act quickly lest they close forever.

Saska's time in Aram has run out. With the city safe from the coalition of Lords Krator and Kastor, she sets her sights on her journey north, bidding her dying grandmother farewell. She has no choice now but to embrace her fate and harden her heart to her purpose. In a world falling to ruin, she will need all the help she can get. Friends old and new will be there to give it, not always in ways she wants.

Freed from the grip of the Nightblade at last, Jonik sets out in the service of a new master. His fate as foreseen by the Far-Seeing Queen has been met, yet a new destiny awaits him. One that will take him to places he never knew existed.

The weather of the world is changing. To both north and south, cataclysmic events are unfolding across land and sea. In this dying world, kings are made, princes tested, and exiles fight to restore their honor. Ancients rise, creatures swarm, men whisper of the waking of titans…

And in the heart of Agarath, a demigod broods, spreading forth the dark will of his master.

Some chapters are very slow to get through but well worth it. Cannot wait for book 7! Love the narration as well

The development!!!

The development of some of my favorite characters , the weaving of several points of view , reunions of friends , former enemies pushing past differences to fight a common enemy . Simply one of the best book series I’ve read In a while . Masterful writing and a beautiful narration .
Ps. Ellyion is a badass !

I hate the brother killer.

I am truly enjoying this series. That being said I HATE the brother killer. Period. None negotiable. The author is trying to make him likable and a victim. I think the word “tool “ has been used. He made a choice and cut his brother’s throat. I keep hoping he will die…horribly. I hated his evil mother too. It just wasn’t believable that she changed before she died. She should have gotten real payback not some quiet death. Honestly, that was disappointing. Please give up on Yonik and let him die…hard…and unforgiven. It will make for a better ending than him being forgiven and making nice with his brother (that he didn’t kill) and his father (that he never knew).

Great series, this book…..a bit of a slog

Narration and writing were excellent. I found the story a bit long winded. Many of the chapters could have been a bit more condensed. I was just hoping for more story progression so that maybe book 7 would be the wrap up but I think it will be at least book 8. Ah well still a great series and a good read.

It's a great story, but I think the author is trying to follow Jordan

Given the long time between releases and a story that just keeps going, I wonder if this author also has heart issues? just like WoT, it's an amazing story... that the author is dragging out until sometime after they die.

Dragged out but still good

I thought this in this book the heroes would have accomplished more, but this book seems like it dragged on and now left me hanging. I hope in the next book the heroes will finally start to get ahead and stop being 2 steps behind the enemy. I absolutely love Yonik please don’t kill him off. Please make Saska not be so weak and pathetic in the next book. Every time she gets in to a situation or battle I get excited and scream this is it she is going to kick butt or her powers are going to manifest, but then I’m disappointed someone always has to save her.

Great saga, keeps getting better

Great performance, with all the characters it stayed engaging and riveting. If you love great storytelling, with character development and pitfalls… this is a great addition to the blade born saga

Epic fantasy series

Probably my favorite epic fantasy series of all time and if you like audiobooks the narrator is Steven Brand and he's fantastic to listen to. T. C. Edge is a genius at developing a complex and richly woven narrative. His characters almost feel alive to me by this point. I can recommend this series enough!
