About this listen

Time is running out for humanity to resist the dreaded Alkasen. The world burns as thousands of Swarmers vessels pour in from Dark Space. Humanity stands divided as the league fragments under the pressure.

On the moon of Psyche, Lucian Abrantes, the Chosen of the Manifold, must start from humble beginnings, growing his single world into an empire. He must unite disparate factions that don’t recognize his legitimacy.

It’s an all but impossible task. But Lucian must rise to the occasion, focusing on gathering a fleet capable of challenging the Alkasen advance. The question of humanity's survival will be decided above the skies of Earth itself.

I am so obsessed with this series and it never fails to grasp my attention and leave me wanting more.

Absolutely amazing

I'm sorry but the main character is absolutely freaking stupid and the author should be punished horribly for his crimes against lore. I've suffered through 8 books of the main character making increasingly stupid nonsensical decisions and I'm at my wits end. Every single time he has an opportunity to make the right decision he doesn't.

And I'm also quite irritated the the BBEG, and bad guys in general, always seem to have another BIG power or capability that shouldn't be possible considering the main characters own capabilities. Like, they scale up in difficulty with the main character. It's just so inconsistent.

Anyways, the narrator gets high marks, the story gets low marks. Overall, I'm gonna finish this series but man, I will be bitter about it to the end. This series could have been absolutely perfect except for the inconsistencies.

Oh FFS
