The unabridged digital audio edition of The Silver Chair, book six in the classic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, narrated by acclaimed actor Jeremy Northam.
Narnia . . . where giants wreak havoc . . . where evil weaves a spell . . . where enchantment rules.
Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, a noble band of friends is sent to rescue a prince held captive. But their mission to Underland brings them face-to-face with an evil more beautiful and more deadly than they ever expected.
The Silver Chair is the sixth book in C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, a series that has become part of the canon of classic literature, drawing readers of all ages into a magical land with unforgettable characters for over fifty years. This is a stand-alone novel, but if you want to discover what happens in the final days of Narnia, check out The Last Battle, the seventh and concluding book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

What did you love best about The Silver Chair?
We've probably listened to about a dozen children's and young adult audio books (including the preceding Narnia ones, which were also great), and this is our favorite. The book is a children's classic no doubt, but the narrator Jeremy Northam does an extraordinary job of bringing all of the characters to life in a way that's interesting to both the children and adults listening to it.Our favorite audio book
