the book I wanted for

This is the decluttering book I've been waiting for. I've bought, listened, and read many others. All those others were trying to sell their systems. All those others never got into the clutter mindset, well maybe one other which was a fun read. But Gary does in this book. I heard him speak on Coast to Coast and went to Amazon to find it. It is worth the read many times.

read it if you dare.

if you are truly, deeply interested in making change in your life, read this book. There may be some uncomfortable moments because the author 10 points there is a vulnerability. Those are the exact points where real change can occur. this author is a kindred spirit as I have been marching to the beat of this drum for much of my recent life

Excellent book

I really found this book very useful and entertaining with one small, subjective exception…the overuse of a pet word. Too often today, writers, bloggers, and podcasters fall in love with modern, corporate-esque words. In this case it was BANDWIDTH. Ugh! What a misused, overused, now irritating word!

Now as for the usefulness. The writers topic was spot on and went into greater detail than most writers on this topic. He applies 5 simple principles in all areas of life. De-cluttering, simplifying, and minimalizing applies to areas of life, physical, mental, and even spiritual. All of these areas need to be de-cluttered and these principles can help guide and assist you on doing so.
I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to reclaim your life.

Pheomenol

Superbly presented. While I myself have been following this path led my my own self, it is good to see confirmation that others are awakening to the need to remove "attachment to things" to declutter their lives also. The old phrase, "when the student is ready the teacher will come" rings true. If you are not ready then keep chasing samsara but always remember the message of the book and when the student (yourself) is ready, return to it's self-liberating message.

Great narration, story mediocre.

Great narrator, but story had too many cave man references. I don't believe in evolution.

Easy to listen to, great advice all around.

This is a no nonsense author that touches on how to improve/simplify almost every aspect of life in general, day to day schedules, money, politics, shopping habits, gaming habits etc.. Will be picking up his other books immediately.

Preachy Writer

Lots of common sense information. Writer keeps blaming the system, for what we should take responsibility for. Clearly, if you're thinking about reading this book, you've already reached the conclusion that your life is not what you want it to be or are ready for a change. Such is life. Feel kinda dumb about having to be told what I already knew.....
