Publisher's summary

The delicate peace between Wizards and the underguilds (Warriors, Seers, Enchanters, and Sorcerers) still holds by the thinnest of threads, but powerful forces inside and outside the guilds threaten to sever it completely. Emma and Jonah are at the center of it all. Brought together by their shared history, mutual attraction, and a belief in the magic of music, they now stand to be torn apart by new wounds and old betrayals. As they struggle to rebuild their trust in each other, Emma and Jonah must also find a way to clear their names as the prime suspects in a series of vicious murders. It seems more and more likely that the answers they need lie buried in the tragedies of the past. The question is whether they can survive long enough to unearth them. Old friends and foes return as new threats arise in this stunning and revelatory conclusion to the beloved and best-selling Heir Chronicles series.

I enjoyed this book, perhaps not as much as the first three thoe. I was particularly disappointed in the ending.

least favorite of the series

the last book left a lot to be desired with minimal about the guilds and more about the romance of the characters. that book left on an exciting moment that made this book a nessessity, but it fell short of the mark. the series feels like a good parallel to the multiple attempts that the United States itself had to go through in creating the government as we know today, but the multiple chapters with them just arguing in the guild council are dull giving this book a lack of action both in fightseens and any sort of political gain until the very end. for a book about zombies, it was surprisingly dull. all and all, it was worth the read, but not one I will come back to.

Narrator makes this book shine

Great plot & storyline. I hate when a book ends so I may be bias, but I feel that the ending should have had the same amount of elaborate closures as the development of the story. You hike up a mountain & expect to hike down instead of a slide to the bottom of the mountain.

Another book with an Ironwood Spine!

Where does The Sorcerer Heir rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to a lot of audiobooks from my local library and a few here on audible and Cinda Williams Chima's books are right at the top with a few other favorites I hold dear. The Sorcerer Heir has some of the best web weaving I've seen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sorcerer Heir?

Can't give away too much here but finding out who is responsible for making everyone "Savants" is a real goose-bump raiser.

What does Robert Ramirez bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Robert Ramirez has a very unique narrating style and it takes most of the first book in the series to get used to it, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him take me on this journey and with print most people would have less Idea of who the characters are

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Quite a few places make you laugh out loud and I love that about this book. A book without wit is a book wasted on mankind. ( not that I don't enjoy witless books and humor as well) ;-)

Any additional comments?

Hard not to fall in love with Emma Greenwood, The Kinlock brothers and The entire gang from Trinity. The living dead, love connections, and high octane action scenes are just a portion of what this titan of a book has to offer! Do yourself a favor though and read them in order. I have gone back through to do just that as I started with the Dragon Heir and realised there were others. After going back things made much more sense. Gritty at times and extremely emotional at others, this book will leave you both reeling and wanting another serving of "the Heir Chronicles"

love this entire series

this story brought be so much life. I love that her stories are based in.my home town. giving me a sense of familiarity to the locations. I hope we get another book and I would love to read what happened between Jack and Jonah during their fight!

Such an amazing series

Such an amazing series, although this book felt like a side Story to the overall story, I still quite enjoyed it. I feel like the series isn't finished, perhaps it's not.

Struggled to turn it off. Awesome story! The characters really melded well in this book and the suspense was intense.

Loved It!

Chima as usual delivers on this riveting conclusion...a bit predictable but it wraps up everything nicely...but on whole this concluding end to the series does indeed satisfy the reader.
