About this listen

My name is Jean Moreau. My place is at Evermore. I belong to the Moriyamas.

It is a truth Jean has built his life around, a reminder this is the best he can hope for and all he deserves. But when he is stolen from Edgar Allan University and sold to a more dangerous master, Jean is forced to contend with a life outside of the Nest for the first time in five years. The Foxes call his transfer to California a fresh start; Jean knows it is little more than a golden cage.

Captain Jeremy Knox is facing his final year with the USC Trojans and fifth straight year falling short of the championships trophy he desperately craves. Taking in the nation's best defenseman is a no-brainer, even if that man is a Raven. But Jean is no monster, just a man with no hope or desire for a future, and when Evermore's collapse starts dragging Jean's hideous secrets to light, Jeremy is forced to contend with the cost of victory.

I don’t know what these 4-star reviews are talking about. I loved this book even more than I loved Neil’s story. While it’s true that the narrative plot is taking a beat to kick off, I honestly don’t care. Nora somehow managed to take a character I deeply disliked and turn him into my greatest f-ing obsession. I will be eating, sleeping, drinking Jean Moreau for the next weeks to come. Waiting for the next book is literally the only thing I care about right now. I have never seen such a three-dimensional character in my life and I truly believe Jean is one of the most complex MCs I’ve ever encountered. On multiple occasions Jean is compared to a beaten dog, and the metaphor couldn’t be any more accurate. He’s a tortured soul, with an undying loyalty to those who ruined him. I have loved watching him slowly open up and begin to find acceptance and safety in his team. I’m only sad that the story’s over and I have nothing to scratch the itch this left behind. As for the narrator, I always thought he sounded a little too true-crime-y for this series, but he’s grown on me. His accents are insanely good, and he really falls into character in this book. There is an empty Jean-shaped hole in my heart. Please give us the next book ASAP!!!!

OH MY GODDDD NORA WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME

The first 3 books had so much suspense and unpredictability I couldn't stop listening. This one was OK but it lacked a good storyline. I was waiting for something to happen but nothing really did. It's hard to explain but the first six chapters are recaps of the first 3 books and the rest was just an angry John trying to fit into a new team. The book leaves you hanging so I guess there will be a book 5. This book felt more like the author had to meet a deadline.

A little disappointed but I listened to it all.

This seems almost too much like Neil in Foxhole Court. Always afraid, slowly learning to trust, super resistant. It’s fun watching the Ravens die off tho haha

Feels familiar

Great continuation of the All For The Game series. I loved getting Jean’s POV. It feels so different from the first three books. More about overcoming and healing than violence and survival. Hearing what Jean went through at the Nest is heartbreaking, but seeing him learn to accept friendship is beautiful. I love seeing how outsiders respond after getting little hints of what he went through. Can’t wait for the rest. Narration was terrific. Nora’s writing is really meant for audio and this narration is great for relaying emotions being felt

This is story where Jean makes it out alive. It was heartbreaking and beautiful to watch him take the first steps out of his darkness. 10/10
