About this listen

The TANNER Series, books one to three, with a special bonus - the first four chapters of book four, The First One to Die Loses.

<Inevitable I

Hired killer Tanner escapes from a Mexican prison and goes in search of revenge against the man who was to be his latest target.

Mobster Albert Rossetti thought he was safe after he framed Tanner for drug possession and had him locked away inside a Mexican prison - but Tanner broke out.

Rossetti's made peace with the man who hired Tanner to kill him, and the contract was cancelled, but that means nothing to Tanner, who lives by his own rules.

Tanner is coming for Rossetti, despite the man's hit squad, or the determined and troubled female FBI agent chasing him.

Tanner is coming, Tanner is deadly, and Tanner never fails.

Kill in Plain Sight

Tanner returns, and The Conglomerate wants him dead.

With their resources and vast troops of lethal thugs, The Conglomerate assumed that killing one man would be easy. They were wrong!

While Tanner is just one man, he is the last man you want to go to war with, and when he teams up with another target of The Conglomerate, he doubles his chances at surviving.

But this is war, and The Conglomerate plays to win.

Enter Lars Gruber, possibly the greatest assassin in the world, and now he's set his sights on Tanner.

It's hit man vs. hit man, and only one can survive.

Making a Killing on Wall Street

Tanner's war with The Conglomerate heats up, but also grows more complicated as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle within the Calvino Crime Family.

Sophia Verona, daughter of slain mobster Jackie Verona, is in the middle of the conflict, and only Tanner can save her, but first, he has to keep himself alive.

love this series. but....

the voice is all wrong. I can hear this voice as his mentor Spenser, but not as Tanner. Tanner is not that old. late twenties early thirties.

Yes

Any additional comments?

Though not my normal genre, the constant action, believable character, humor, interaction between the different characters is great. I kept thinking "oh yea, do that again!"

What a mistake....

Hoping that this review helps to stop someone from making the same mistake as I did. Being a fan of thrillers, crime, mysteries, etc., I'm always looking for a new audio book to enjoy during my ride to and from work. As I've done numerous times before, I took Amazon up on one of their suggestions and purchased Young Guns, Books 1-3, by Remington Kane. Not realizing that The Tanner Series was published before Young Guns. Young Guns is the story of how Tanner became a Tanner when he was in his teens. Book 3 left ended with much of the story yet to be completed. In The Tanner Series, Tanner is already in his mid-30's and is well into his 'career'. I didn't realize until I was 2 chapters into The Tanner Series that this series was published well in advance of Young Guns. Although I would have liked a seamless transition, it wasn't a deal breaker. The deal breaker for me was the performance of the narrator. See, I was extremely spoiled by listening to Sean Patrick Hopkins narrate Young Guns. He did a great job with the telling of the story and playing the role of each of the characters. He's awesome at what he does. Once Young Guns wrapped up, I immediately downloaded The Tanner Series and was immediately disappointed. Daniel Dorse has to be on of the worst narrators that I've ever listened to. Obviously, I was expecting to hear Sean Patrick Hopkins' voice when I hit play. Disappointed, I decided to keep listening since the plot was very good. After 4 chapters in, I had to shut it off as I couldn't stand listening to Daniel Dorse speak one more word. He is the definition of bland. There's no excitement in his presentation, he reads without punctuation and he'll put you to sleep within the first 100 words. Please don't make the same mistake. If you have the pleasure of listening to Young Guns, wait until the next book is published and then enjoy listening to a great narrator.

Great series

Chose this series from listening to another series by the same author. Being a lover of audio books, I listen everyday, all day. I like the book and the cast of charaters but this readers voice is like gravel to my ears.
