About this listen

The final installment in Elodie Harper's Sunday Times bestselling Wolf Den Trilogy Amara's journey has taken her far; from a slave in Pompeii's wolf den to a high-powered courtesan in Rome... though her story is not over yet. While Amara plays for power in Rome's imperial palace, those dearest to her remain in Pompeii. But it is AD 79, and mighty Mount Vesuvius is about to make itself known... 'Beautiful, moving, captivating.' JENNIFER SAINT 'Vivid, unsentimental and compelling.' THE TIMES

a must read ancient Roman trilogy

I immensely enjoyed this trilogy and am impressed by the author's ability to completely immerse you into the lives of her characters and elicit raw emotion from the reader as well as how easily they were able to emotionally attach me to each character to where I even felt for the "villians" of this story.

I highly suggest putting it on your TBR

Wonderful listen!

Historical fiction at its best - lovely narration and story. Character development and cultural descriptions carried me into the Roman world.

My favorite series I’ve read in a long time

There’s a lot to love here. I really didn’t feel complete at the end of the first 2 books but this finale left me fully satisfied and it was a rewarding journey all the way through. Great character development. Intense climax. Much needed revenge. Forbidden love. Immersive historical descriptions. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

An Amazing Ending

The Wolf Den, The House With The Golden Door, and The Temple of Fortuna—three titles of books that transcend time and effortlessly capture Roman-Greco historical fiction in every word, sentence, paragraph, prose, and phrase. Ms. Elodie Harper knows what she is doing. The way she writes is phenomenal. The way she has crafted such a masterpiece with characters we have no choice but to simply fall in love with makes us only crave another book in the series. Emotions run high in Pompeii; fear grips the reader in Rome—there is intense suspense is on every pages as Amara is force to keep her secrets to herself but fights everyday with determination to give her daughter a better life. As a reader I could only wish for Felix’s demise but then we got something so much better in the end. Elodie Harper is an award-winning author who has done it again. The Temple of Fortuna was very giving! Ya’ll role the credits!

The narration

Loved the narrators voice and I hate this stupid 15 word minimum. Thats all I have to say

Inconsistent Narration

I loved the actual story, but the narrator was so inconsistent. The reader pronounced words differently so many times from the way that she did in the first two books that it took me out of the story each time. My focus was then on that not on what was happening.

Worth the wait!!

I loved this trilogy so so much. One of my favorite trilogies ever. I binged this last book in a few days and it was so wonderfully transportive and just so dang good. I am so sad it’s over, but loved the way it ended. And the narrator is just so perfect. Bravo!!!
