About this listen

A cautionary look at 10 dangerously appealing half-truths.

Not long ago, I came across a list of 10 principles set forth by proponents of progressive Christianity. They are, in effect, a new 10 commandments. What’s striking is that they are far less about God revealing his desires and far more about man expressing his own - less Moses, more Oprah.

Yet each of these commandments is partially true. Indeed, that is what makes this list, and progressive Christianity as a whole, so challenging. Half-truths can sound quite appealing until you recognize their foundations and implications. In this booklet, I diagnose and critique each of these tenets and offer a brief biblical and theological response.

Liberal Christianity never really goes away. If the church is going to hold fast to “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude Three), we must, in every era, be able to distinguish the true faith from the false.

A must read

Michael kruger exposes the cancer of "progressive" Christianity in a short but powerful critique of "progressive" Christianities primarily tenants of belief.

When finished, you are left with the desire that he had expanded further - always an indication that the book was enjoyable.

A must read for Christians

This book was well written and worked through important considerations all Christians benefit from diving into, especially with so many wordsmiths sharing views that certainly sound good, but fail to align with scripture. It’s an important reminder to Christ followers that we need to hold everything up to scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Builds on Machen's Christianity and Liberalism

Wow! This book was awesome. It is basically a modern version of John Gresham Machen's classic book: Christianity and Liberalism. The author systematically shows how progressivism infiltrates the church through wolves in sheep's clothing.

Boost your theological immune system!

This is a must read book for all English speaking Christians. The Church is under assault from those spreading heresy and post modernism. Dr. Kruger does an amazing job defending the true faith in such a short book.

Words of warning for the woke 'church.'

Well thought out critique of the woke church.
Remember, Jesus said that if you are lukewarm, He will spit you out of His mouth.

Great concise rebuttal of progressive theology

I’ve read numerous progressive theology books and this gives a concise rebuttal of the logical incongruities and inconsistent application of arbitrary standards. If you believe coherence is a guide to knowing reality this does a good job of showing how progressive theology is unsatisfactory to the soul and the mind.

Half truths

I believe this speaks more about people who are not Christian’s. I think that I am progressive in many of my views but these commandments do not mesh with my thoughts.
