About this listen

A man of integrity with a soul of steel, pursuing honor and justice is as natural as breathing in Marc Brannon's line of work.

Called to the scene of a high-profile murder, Brannon finds himself pitted against the vibrant, and vulnerable, junior investigator from his past. Years ago his heart had been intertwined with Josette Langley's, until she'd made an explosive accusation that had sent shock waves through political circles, and shattered his faith in her.

Now they are back together again and there is more at stake than just their stubborn pride. For this homicide investigation is becoming more complex and dangerous with each passing day, and time is not on their side. Can these disillusioned lovers close in on the truth before the culprit claims another victim?

Or will they both be caught in the crossfire?

Love Diana Palmer

Love the simple romance in all of her books, with a little danger thrown in

Hate the abridged version

What would have made The Texas Ranger better?

Having an unabridged version available.

Any additional comments?

I loved the book and bought the audio without realizing that the book had been chopped up and ruined by removing most of the story. I was very disappointed.

Poor Representation of Original Story

This was awful. This is an abridged recording, just a hodgepodge of random snippets from the novel, which fail to do just to the original story. The best thing about this book was the narration buy even that's not enough for this audiobook to merit ⭐⭐.

Brannon is a bastard

the narrator was good. Diana Palmer can write very well. I keep this book for the other characters in Jacobsville. In the character of Marc Brannon Diana wrote of him as a stand up man but he was a bastard to Josette thru 3/4 of the book. And He never apologized for his endless mistakes with her. Then she forgives all because he "loves" her and wants to marry her. I wanted her to arrange an riding accident for him

Do NOT waste your time

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Story not good, Reading poor. Mispronounced names of city, counties and made Texas Rangers sound like horny fools. Someone needs to check the correct pronunciation of city, county names before releasing the audible.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Someone who knows Texas.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrator?

Someone from Texas. Bexar is pronounced Bear.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Texas Ranger?

All this was just junk

Ugh Abbreviated version of book

So disappointing. This was only 4 chapters! They cut down the original book so much the storyline hardly made sense. The reader was good but the book has 17 chapters and somehow the publisher cut it down to 4.
