Welcome to the Lords of Thunder trilogy - Book Two

May, 1258 A.D. - Now, Simon de Montfort is amassing a parliament whereupon King Henry and Simon will all have equal representation. As the politics in this difficult time begin to gain speed, Maximus de Shera, the consummate warrior and middle brother of the de Shera brother trio, has something very unexpected happen to him. In the midst of the political turmoil, he finds love in the daughter of a de Montfort supporter.

Lady Courtly Love de Lara is no ordinary woman - she is strong, wise, reasonable, and resourceful as well as being blindingly beautiful. As Maximus' brothers become sucked in deeper to de Montfort's intrigue, the strongest brother of all is distracted by a beautiful lady. The lady's father, however, is opposed to Maximus' suit and makes every effort to send his daughter far away where Maximus cannot find her.

When Maximus is needed most in the struggle against Henry III, The Thunder Warrior is off on a quest of his own to locate, and marry, the woman he loves and do battle against a man he once considered an ally. Deep passion, family betrayal, family honor, grief, and a powerful love story culminate in Book Two of the Lords of Thunder Trilogy.

The Thunder Warrior by Kathryn Le Veque
The de Shera Brotherhood Book 2: Lords of Thunder

This is a very touching story. There are so many aspects of what it is to love and in this story, the author really explores those connections. This is the story of how the second born de Shera son finds love. Yet this story is so much more than that. Loyalties and friendships, fathers and sons, all must choose sides, yet concerns are put to rest as each person realizes, the bond of friendship overrides loyality to Country. With that said, this book has some of the funniest moments I have ever had the privilege of reading. If I met a man the way Courtley met Maximus, I would have a red face for a year and move to a different Country. But I laughed out loud until my eyes overflowed with tears. Every time I thought I was done laughing, it would start all over again.

In this book, you feel the love of family, friendships, the love three sons have for their mother and the most adoring and profound respect for their mother as well. That truly pulled on my heart strings. Then there are trials and battles, emotionally as well as physically. And there is loss written with such reverence and admiration, with words of wisdom to be passed down to each generation. An emotionally charged, fulfilling story, that will also make you laugh and then laugh some more. I loved it.
An absolute must read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love Those de Shera Brothers

This is Maximus' story and he gets hooked. You get a glimpse of his character and personality in book one, so I was looking forward to listening to his story. He is aggressive in all things and it makes the story interesting. Now on to book 3.

Excellent

I love Kathryn Le Veque’s medieval stories. Her characters are relatable and sometimes humorous. I laughed out loud at the way our hero, Maximus, was introduced to the heroine. This was an action packed amazing read.

Wonderful!

This one made me laugh out loud from the start. I will always remember her falling on Max and knocking him down and landing with her bare crotch or fuzzy notch right on his face. Then when he breathed she could feel his breath on her and starting beating him on the head. LOL. Funny, sad, anxious and every emotion. I won't ever forget this one.

Not much to it, poor narratation.

The story was OK, nothing new. The romance was sweet, but too formal and dry. It starts with an awkward yet funny and steamy meet.. but then changes to boring. This book has one of the most dull consummation accounts I’ve heard... feels very robotic. The hero is described as a massive, good looking warrior knight, but the narrator makes him sound more like a snobbish Earl who comes across as entitled, impulsive and impatient. About half way through I increased the payback speed to 1.25 so I could get to the end quicker. Then about 75% of the way through I upped it to 1.75 so I could just be done with it. I gave the story three stars only because I was interested enough to be curious about how it ended. But just barely. I won’t be moving on to the third book. I thought the first book was decent, enough to make me move on to the second, but I’m done now.
