About this listen

Would you travel the world with a perfect stranger? Fasten your seat belts for an emotional journey filled with humor and adventure. Bachelor and newscaster Pete McCarney buys two plane tickets for a trip around the world with his girlfriend, but they split up shortly before the trip, and he can't get a refund. In a gutsy last-minute move, Pete goes on social media asking for women with his girlfriend's exact name to join him on the trip. Twenty-one women apply, and the ensuing interview process is both awkward and hilarious. When he finally chooses a feisty, headstrong, recently-divorced lawyer, he has no idea what to expect from their worldwide adventures - and neither does Allie James. She has pretty much sworn off men since her divorce. Will either of them get the vacation they were so desperately hoping for?

Contains mature themes.

Everything but the kitchen sink

I mean it started out really well… and then it just became insufferable. Love and a proposal in 2 weeks (when the MFC is still angry at her ex…)? Superfluous lawsuit that literally added NOTHING to the plot? Friend with cancer to add drama for literally no legitimate reason? This book needed some serious editing. Like… pick one or two and focus. It was all just a bit trite and unrealistic.

Cute Story!

I loved the characters in this book. They were real & believable. Absolutely loved Pete, with his Irish accent and Gallic language. Overall very entertaining.

good little story

I like this book. it was a good listen and there wasn't a lot of dragging out the story just to make it long. it had a very nice flow to it. Voices were good too.

Karma is a thing

I love the 2nd chance romance . It was fun and light but still had something to think about. We’re dealing with our ghosts and hang ups .

Unlikeable female protagonist

I stopped listening with 59 minutes to go. I could listen to Gary Furlong’s Irish accent forever, but the female character, who is over 40, acts with the maturity of someone in her twenties. That mostly just made me vaguely dislike her, but the way she behaves around her teenage children regarding her ex was the last straw. I kind of loathed her at that point and really didn’t care to continue.

So Sweet!

This second chance story is just so Adorable that you smile thru it all. The characters are made for each other and very closed off. You will love this book.

A beat cute romance

Wow, a ticket around the world sounded like good adventure. Too much of this novel was spent on the romance. Not enough on the adventure for my taste

Easy paced and enjoyable

This was a good book that was easy paced and enjoyable. Not too much angst, not too much drama, decent characters, and good ending. narration is perfect also.

A really nice book but…

So overall it was a really sweet sotryline and fun to listen to! I was sick and listened to the whole book in one day and really like it, but it is a bit unrealistic (he proposed in two weeks, a building collapsed on her and he almost got his parachute tangled) for realistic fiction and I think it should have more clear focus or focuses. Theyre were also little things that didn’t really make sence in this story, like her best friend getting breast cancer and then getting over it the next week and them almost having to deathly emeregensies in the tume of like 3 days.
