I did not enjoy this book very much. The performance was the best part. I guess I like more realistic books.

Good story

Good story seemed to drag a bit. Like Paulina Simons. Her other books I couldn’t put down and raced to get back to them. Over all she t kept my interest. On to book two

EPIC

“I should have kissed you.”

OMG!!! That was truly epic!!! I’m a fan of this author for life now. And I haven’t even read ‘The Bronze Horseman’ yet!

If you told me I would love a time travel romance and historical romance, I probably would have laughed. And judging by the wildly diverse reviews of this book, I would also say that theaudiobook is a must! Jeremy Arthur literally brought this fantastic journey to life.

This was am intriguing and mysterious story to me. Julian is a blogger living in California and meets the mysterious actress, Josephine. The first part of the book is building their intense love but what I loved most was that Josephine was not an entirely likable character. Yet I was compelled to keep going to see where this exquisitely detailed story would lead me.

What started as a Hollywood love story then changed into something else and I was stunned! I am so glad the blurb is so vague. I am also thrilled that this will be a three-book series because I NEED MORE! I felt the intense longing and deep love that Julian felt for his Josephine and completely understood why he felt compelled to chase her literally across time.

“Listen to me very carefully,” Devi said. “Take your assumptions about what you know and throw them all out the window. All of them. You need to learn a new language. The language of the meridian, of universal time, of hope, and of faith."

The author obviously spent an enormous about of time researching the details in this book. I loved all the minute details and felt that everything was an important clue to be remembered for later. This is going to be a spoiler-free review but suffice to say that I felt every emotion while listening to the audio book of 'The Tiger Catcher' - fear, love, passion, loss, heartbreak and hope.

This book deals with some difficult themes but the story is unforgettable. The characters were all very flawed and real and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

“Are you prepared to risk everything to gain nothing...but there was another outcome...couldn’t he risk everything, and gain everything?”

I don't know how I feel about this book

This is very different from her other books. I liked it but it doesn't compare with the bronze horseman which is one of my most favorite books. It started off a bit slow and the characters were not that endearing but I am looking forward to book 2 .

Enriching story of friendship and love

So many things to say about this SERIES- but the most important is the narration is EXCELLENT, Jeremy Arthur (J.F. Harding) is always fantastic and he lifted this series up a couple notches. I listened to all 3 books in this series back to back to back - I couldn't stop listening to this very creative series.

I personally think this series is very deep, actually it is as deep as you let it be. I mean, it could pass as just a romance saga if that is what you want - or you can look a little deeper into the rich lessons in each lifetime and how each incarnate there was a lesson/trait needed to make a truly whole and worthy life. The details are important as you move through the lives and times - and they are fun to keep track of and by doing this it enabled me to figure some things out and of course I probably got some things wrong. All in all, getting past the "romance" was easy for me - there is a lot here to unravel, digest and ponder about life, living, what's important, dealing with grief, letting go of selfishness, etc.... I was deeply moved by this series.

The last book in this series was my favorite and the author wrapped it up extremely well - one of the best endings to a series.

While I did not like many of the incarnations of Josephine - I found her basically intolerable in all but 2 of her lives and I wanted to slap Julian so many times - these were important incarnations/lives to the journey of two souls as they pass through times and lifetimes to try and be the best version to present to God at the end.

Also, I think it was a wonderful, deep and enriching story of friendship - the love and friendship between Ashton and Julian was so touching and very scary real. The friendships in this series are really what binds this whole series for me - not the "love story".
I didn't find the love story very touching - but was deeply moved by the friends that guided, soothed, enabled, and supported each other. Listen to the whole series - it's original, well narrated, and very addicting.

Great trilogy

This trilogy is a great escape. It is an eclectic genre: science fiction, love story but not quite, with plenty of historical snippets It is similar to Outlander in that respect, if you are familiar with the series. Paullina Simons is a very generous, she gives you a richly written material not limited to a number of words like some of the other ‘formula’ writers, especially in romance.

Quite disappointing

I read the Bronze Horseman trilogy and loved it, so I had high expectations of this one. However, the pace of this book is very slow. Simmons gets into so much details about imeaterial things, that some parts drag on forever, unnecessarily. There were part that made me consider abandoning this book midway, but some parts were interesting enough to keep me going. Serious editing and shortening this book by at least a third, would have done it only good. The narration leaves a lot to be desired. The narrator has a nice voice when narrating or reading as male, but when reading as the female characters, he sounded ridiculous.
