Paullina Simons never ceases to surprise. I would have never guessed which way this story would go. There are so many twists and turn, and as always I hold my breath and I cannot put the book down until I find out what happens. I love this writer! Also well done on the performance the person reading with so many foreign accents!

One of the best books I’ve ever read. Shocking and Moving. A deep and tragic story but also, uplifting because there is a vein of acceptance and survival in the people left behind. So many questions were stirred while listening, the biggest one being, How could she? And the ultimate answer was, because she couldn’t help herself.

The thing that made me cringe the most was the worst Australian accent I have ever heard and the mis pronunciation of Australian places. Cringe! I think Jane needs a lot more practice before attempting it again. Apart from that, it was no Bronze Horseman but I liked it. I had a love hate relationship with the main character. I learnt what not to do and what to appreciate more. I found it frustrating and long winded at times but I could not stop. Paulina is a great Author a little (more) time in Australia’s out back would give her a better understanding of how true country people are. Totally different to the city Aussies! Can’t wait for the next book!!

This book is so well written and narrated that it was difficult to even stop for a break. When I do not want a book to end, I know it s a great book. I had to relisten to last two chapters as so much happens I did not want to miss a word. Every word written is so real and full of heartfelt passages.

I will never be able to look at a jaguar in the same way...........

stressful and disappointing was this book. I skipped around alot especially to the end. the ending was strange. I still really like Paullina but this one didn't do it for me at all.
