Invaluable Collection with Smaller Texts Too

Most people interested in this area of ancient literature know the Meditations, probably the most popular book outside the Bible. And Seneca’s Letters from a Stoic are pretty well known and have stood the test of time, so the offer a critique of those in the 21st Century would be kind of ridiculous. The Discourses of Epictetus (slave turned philosopher) is lesser known and of interest as it influenced Marcus Aurelius, so there is an evolution of thought there.
The Enchiridion is fragmentary and full of lots of bits of wisdom. Overall enjoyable to listen to. The Shortness of life by Seneca is much lighter than his Letters for a Stoic and is a very practice guide, so applicable today, proving that people have not changed that much in 2000 years (except the were probably a lot smarter).

Grounding, Wise, and Worth Repeating

This collection was exactly what I needed right now. As a dad of two little ones and a self-employed business owner, life gets chaotic—and Stoicism offers a powerful mental reset. Marcus Aurelius and Seneca especially helped me slow down and refocus on what truly matters. The narration wasn’t perfect—some sections felt a bit flat—but the content itself is so strong it didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you're looking for practical, timeless wisdom you can actually use in your day-to-day, this is a solid listen. I'll be coming back to this one often.
