Fun adventures

This was a fabulous book that reminded me of all the mystery adventures I read growing up. The Treasure of the Lost Mine was captivating and entertaining with some educational information that helped this book be more than just fun. I think this is the first of many entertaining stories the kids will enjoy.

Engaging!

“I like the funny parts” -my 8 year old

He laughed out loud and was excited for bedtime each night. Super engaging. Fun and clean. I enjoyed it much more than goosebumps or Minecraft novels

Weird anti government, anti regulation sentiments.

The main story itself was fair- teenage cousins, mystery, adventure, bad guys. My 9 year old enjoyed it.

We will not be continuing the series though. I was disturbed by the number of times there were references to government regulations being bad for everything, subtle negative undertones toward government employees, and completely weird references to government employees being able to decide to put new species on the endangered species list without reason or data and then take someone’s farm because of fines incurred due to environmental regulation violations (that were made up by a corrupt government official). It was such a bizarre undertone to everything and gave a very negative feel about the book. The book would have been decent without that undertone. With the undertone as is, no thank you.
