About this listen

"Love is bull****."

That's how blogger, Bianca Bailey begins the first post of what's supposed to be a new series on her website, in response to her readers curiosity about her feelings on love. That post never makes it to the public eye, but those three words perfectly sum up Bianca's outlook, and rule the way she interacts with the men around her — including Rashad.

Rashad isn't interested in anything serious either, but for a different reason. Rashad loves women, and women love him, but he's avoiding trouble — the nickname his father uses for the kind of woman that makes you forget all others exist. He’s young, he’s handsome, and his photography career is right at the point of taking off. Settle down for what?

Although their relationship is contentious at first, their mutual attraction isn't something that can be ignored, or denied. Disdain on one end, and unshakeable curiosity on the other, develop into an unconventional relationship where they get the benefits of companionship without the trouble of love.

One thinks they can keep it casual, the other is looking for an opportunity to take it further. Neither of them expects to “catch feelings”… let alone find themselves considering the “L” word.

Ok Story

Narrators did a great job! It was kind of predictable but not bad. Looking forward to book 3.

Love Love Love This Story

Another great one from CCJ. She does no wrong. The right amount of heat and romance for me. The duet narrating is always a bonus. Siobhan and Stephens were great to listen too! Just get the book.

How it made me feel. I smiled the whole time. The way these characters were written was so well done

I loved how it was narrated. Other books are done where each chapter is from the male/female perspective. This was more conversational so easy imagine. I enjoyed this so much. Great book, great story, and great narration. I wanna hear more from Sharif. His voice is everything!

A Great Read!

It took me half of the 1st chapter for me to realize that I knew this couple. I only started reading CCJ books this year and read the Inevitable Series. I love knowing how a couple got together and this did not disappoint.

I love Duel Narrations! Wesleigh is Royalty so she can NEVER do me wrong! This is my Second book with Sharif and he is now in my top 5 male voices. He knows what he is doing to bring a character to life and I am pleased! I can hear him saying the line, "Open up! Let me see you!" 🤣

This is for sure a relisten and read.

Absolutely One of The Best!

The narration was perfect and the story was perfectly written. The characters were imperfect in the most likeable ways. If y'all don't fall in love and cry at 7 Mondays, you're trippin!

So sweet!

This was such a sweet story! Great characters with layers and an intriguing storyline. Listened to it straight through. And the performance of both narrators was spot on!

I loved it, better than I thought!!

I hesitated on this book and it turned out better than the first one! I'm glad Rashad matured and became my new book bae. I feel like Bianca gave in to quickly but she rebounded.. The writing was good and I don't have to tell you about the narration!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved!

I really enjoyed this title. But then again, it’s CCJ. Of course I did. She delivers every time!

This was an emotional, funny, dramatic story. And SEXY!

I kind of expected the tone of this one to be different than it was when I figured out that Rashad was one of the main characters. I didn’t think I’d be able to take it seriously since he was so silly and seemed a bit childish in book 1. I have to say, Rashad seemed more mature in this book though. Idk if it was how CCJ wrote him or if it was the narrators doing, with his deeper tone.

This was definitely a nice feel good story. CCJ did a great job of showing how rewarding letting your guard down can be when the right person comes along. The characters were well developed and relatable in some ways. I actually liked this book better than the first one.

Now for the narrators.

I LOVE when the narrators tag team with the dialogue. When the male narrator does all the male voices and the female narrator does all the female voices and they go back and forth respectively when the different characters are speaking to each other. Even though Wesleigh Siobhan does a great job with the male voices, I just prefer when it’s done this way. It feels more real.

Sharif Stephens’ voice…. Mm mm mm. Sexy! He did a great job! I’ll definitely be seeking out more books that he narrates.

Now this probably goes without saying but if you don’t know that Wesleigh Siobhan is the GOAT, now you know. She just don’t miss. Wesleigh and Sharif definitely brought the characters to life. If you’re looking for your next book, I highly recommend this one. I can’t wait till book 3 drops. I HOPE that Wesleigh and Sharif show up again for book 3. They make a great team.
