Publisher's summary

He's all business and she's got a lot to prove. Love was not on the agenda.

Jill Harris is determined to prove she deserves her position at her father's consulting firm, so the last thing she has time for is dating. Since her only experience with love ended in heartbreak, she isn't tempted to break her own rule - until she meets Blake McDaniel. When she's asked to take a job working with Blake, it's a great step in her career, but the more time she spends around the attractive, determined billionaire, the harder it is to remember why she wants to stay single.

Blake has one rule for himself when it comes to relationships: He won't date a woman who's already married to her career. After watching his mother's many failed marriages, he knows it just won't work. But then Jill comes into his life, brilliant and capable...and entirely too fascinating. Even though he has no intention of falling for her, he just can't seem to stay away. But when suspicion clouds their future, will he be able to follow his heart?

Read this book first, and the Audible presentation was better

When I read this book, it felt rushed at the end. The audible presentation was better. I enjoyed both. Jill and Blake’s mistakes at the end still seemed out of character at the end but the Audible presentation flowed well with a good performance.

No so naughty but super cute

This book and the book that comes before it are both really cute stories. Really kept my interest had plenty of swoon worthy moments. It’s just if you’re more of an NC-17 kind of a reader be prepared for PG.
Having naughty moments isn’t a requirement for me with these types of stories I just know that sometimes the author goes a little more into details that give “wet” moments if you know what I’m saying

Great story

This was a sweet story about a very motivated intelligent energetic vibrant woman who met a billionaire at her friend’s bbq. She was asked to assist with a mutual project and through some rough times they came together. It was an easy book to listen to. Well narrated and well written.

Engaging Story

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
ill Harris is determined to prove she deserves her position at her father’s consulting firm, so the last thing she has time for is dating. When she’s asked to take a job working with Blake, it’s a great step in her career, but the more time she spends around the attractive, determined billionaire, the harder it is to remember why she wants to stay single.

Blake has one rule for himself when it comes to relationships: He won’t date a woman who’s already married to her career. MY TAKE
This is my second Pennington billionaire romance, and I loved it. It was the first audiobook I listened to and Nancy Peterson did a fabulous job.

I liked Blake right away and really enjoyed how capable and determined Jill was. Their interchanges were interesting and the sparks really flew, both from attraction and misunderstanding as they got to know each other. The storyline developed well.

I won't spoil it but Jill withheld (unnecessarily) something that led to a huge rift between them. It was almost a "too stupid to live" moment for me. And then there was a betrayal that happened that was forgiven a little too readily for me to be completely satisfied since it could have created a huge trust issue. But and the resolution was a happy one, and I liked the characters enough to make up for it.

Great story.

I really liked this romance book. It was well written and held your attention. It is one of the few recent romance novels that you wouldn’t mind your teenage daughter reading with you. The narration was excellent. I can’t wait to read more of her books! Great HEA!

Nice character and cute story

It is a nice story with super incredible characters that have great background and personalities. The plot is mild and surrealistic, because I believe the characters could have a more interesting development. Still, it’s a cute romantic story worth reading!

Truly enjoyed Nancy's ability to voice a male Texan. The characters flowed seamlessly without needing a male narrator.

Loved the writer's ability to portray the electric connection between Jill and Blake. This is turning into a wonderful series.

Sweet Love Story

This review are for both books in this series. They were both just what I wanted. There aren’t any graphic sex scenes which I appreciated. At times I like those scenes in what I am reading. At other times I don’t.
If you are looking for an enjoyable love story I recommend both.

Predictable

So many of these books make women look weak and needy.
Apparently a guy can do whatever and treat women like they’re dispensable rather than believing in them and waiting for a conversation; and then the woman just forgives and falls in love. Predictable.
