Fun read for lovers of mystery and romance

This was a fun book, and I liked it. I would consider it a romance thriller. I have to admit that the love-at-first-sight romance between the two main characters did seem a bit rushed and improbable. I do appreciate that it is a "clean" romance. The story takes place in a castle with hidden secret passages - what's not to like about that? I liked that the mystery involved multiple generations of a family and was shocked to learn what happened to the grandmother.

I listened to the Audible audio version of this book narrated by Ayelet Sror. I thought she did pretty well. She gave unique voices to each of the character, had good pacing, and sounded very "French" for the French characters. There were a couple times when she sounded a little robotic and her pronunciation of a word was strange (ex. the word "swathed" was pronounced "SWAY-th'd". Other than that, she was fine. I have heard better, but I have heard many more that weren't as good.

Overall, this was a good book. I enjoyed it and I would read more by this author. If you like romance and mystery, this would be a good choice for your next read.
