Publisher's summary

The Unburied Dead introduces Thomas Hutton, the coarse, melancholic, drink-fuelled, sex-addicted police sergeant Tartan Noir has been waiting for.

A killer stalks the streets of Glasgow, his attacks bestial in their ferocity. The police are lost, and soon, as the past begins to haunt them, they themselves become targets. Step forward Detective Sergeant Hutton, adrift in a sea of love, lust, deception, alcohol and murdered colleagues. And lost though he is, the dead will not rest, the past will not be buried, and Hutton must find the answers before the killer strikes again....

Unexpected gem

I mainly listen to United Kingdom & Ireland crime books, I've blown through most of them and thought I would give this one a try.
Hang in there ..I regretted my choice until I got past the first few chapters. The main character talks a lot and fast and it took me time to gel with how the author tells a story. I would say it was pretty good and plan on reading more . Also, I found it helped to slow the narration speed by 10.

outstanding!

Douglas Lindsay is one of the most underrated crime/thriller authors out there. His style and unique follow through is unmatched! This series is by far one of his best and that's saying something because everything he writes is OUTSTANDING! Highly highly recommend this and all Lindsay's works!

Just “fine” all around

The storyline was decent but the characters were all pretty unlikable and sad. Kind of morose narration added to gloominess.

Truly awful

This has got to be the worst audiobook I've ever listened to. Crude, crass, pointless, and a total waste of time. Truly, truly, truly awful! I am embarrassed for everyone involved.
