About this listen

A Christian Supernatural Thriller and Suspense Novel

Can a fallen angel be saved?

The last thing Landon Walker remembered was a blinding light.

Now, he's in a field, with no memory of who he is, where he came from, or anything about his past.

All he has are the clothes on his back and a wallet in his pocket.

But when Landon starts healing the sick and performing miracles, he attracts the attention of both the heavenly and the demonic.

Hunted by demons and shadowed by angels, Landon begins to realize that he's much more than just some "John Doe."

He's the Unfallen, and the fate of the world may rest in his hands.

The Unfallen is the first book in this fast-paced, action-packed Christian suspense series. Fans of novels by Frank Peretti, like This Present Darkness, or fans of Terry Pratchett's and Neil Gaiman's Good Omens, will fall in love with Landon Walker. An action-packed redemption story.

I did not like the "over acting" of narration. too over the top. really turned me off. not sure I will listen to the other.

A great story that will leave you wondering more about the Lord that made us.

the intensity of the story

I understand the previous poor reviews to an extent. I agree the author is not a voice over talent, thus he doesn't have the skills to do justice to his book. I do believe however the biggest audio problem is poor audio mixing. You can tell recordings have been done at different settings for sound and clarify and they do not blend together well. Shockingly loud out of the blue. Because of this I am also finding it hard to listen for too long. I am only partway thru book one. I want to listen to more to find out where this goes, but I have to pace myself because of the poor audio quality. They should have hired Scott Brock to read this and it may have been a book that was hard to stop listening to.

Descent story but poor audio mixing

So this story is great. I was never bored nor did i have it figured out before the end. I mean you kinda get the gist of where it’s headed but you can’t literally predict the characters’ actions or dialogue. Some books are like that. I’m very interested in the next book but I must make a point on the narration. I suppose many arguably think there’s no better narrator of a book than the author him/her-self. This is NOT always the case. For instance when I was younger I was a huge Dean Koontz fan. In my late 20s I got to a point where whenever I tried to read anything, boom I fell asleep. Books on cd were becoming very popular then (yes I’m that old lol) and while in B&N bookstore Dean Koontz’s newest book was available on cd. What a better way to introduce myself to the listening concept than with my favorite author?! Let me just say that many attempts were made but I never made it through the 2nd chapter. Clearly the author of this series is skilled at what he does and in fact I really enjoyed his address to his listeners and critics at the end of this book. He spoke with conviction, a normal cadence, appropriate tone and emotion. His performance as narrator was totally off. His characters sounded robotic, void of emotion or worse yet when Landon had any emotion like anger, anxiety, excitement, worry etc he simply raised his volume to exclaim every word. He had no subtleties, nuances or any emotional tones. Then there was Zacharias. I swear that was Robert Redford doing the voice of the character. It drove me so crazy that I had to stop listening and search the internet for anything that’d back up what I was hearing. No luck. Everything simply says narrated by Judah Lamb. I also didn’t like the choppiness of the pre-recorded portions of various characters’ parts. Even some of those seemed to think that volume and emotion are the same thing. Have I listened to worse narrators? Absolutely. Could a different narrator elevate this story to a whole new level? You bet. Just my thoughts. Thought I might give another one of his series a go and see if they’re any different. In the meantime, if anyone can explain why Zacharias sounds so much like Robert Redford, I’d love to know.

Great Story Slightly Annoying Narration

The narrator was overly dramatic. It got on my nerves so badly that I couldn’t finish the book.

Obnoxious narrative

The writing is plebian and the narrator is so appalling I wonder what they were thinking in his hiring- Oh I see it is the author himself who thought he could just be the narrator. BIG MISTAKE! Sir you have no gift for reading aloud and should leave narration to the professionals. The two combined gave me a headache and regret for lost time. I would like my money back.

Horrid
