About this listen

Detective Mort Grant of the Seattle PD has finally decided to sell. The home where he and his late wife raised two kids feels too large and too full of old memories. His son is married and raising a family of his own, and despite desperate efforts to find her, Mort has lost touch with his wayward daughter. That is until the day she walks back into her childhood home and begs for his help.

For the last four years, Allie Grant has been the lover - and confidante, confessor, and counselor - of one of the world's most powerful and deadly men. But a sudden rash move has put Allie in the crosshairs of a ruthless Russian crime lord. Mort knows of only one place where Allie will be safe: with The Fixer.

As a hired desperado, The Fixer has killed 23 people - and Mort was complicit in her escape from the law. She has built an impregnable house, stocked it with state-of-the-art gear, armed it to the teeth, and locked herself away from the world. But even The Fixer may not be able to get justice for Allie when real evil comes knocking.

Suspenseful & Fast Moving

Moving fast with lots of details kept me guessing at this one. Amazing how all comes together with an explanation that answers all. Great beach novel.

story & narrator

this whole series so far is just brilliant from the story line (which has just the right amount of violence I mean if there was more it would still be good) but also the narrator does perfectly with all characters it's very easy to keep up with the character

Do Not Miss This Series

Incredible story line. Believable content, rich characters, intrigue, honestly the Very Best thrilling, well written, hook you right off the start with The Fixer and who this person is and capable of. You love it, you will be by The Fixers side all the way.
This is an ABSOLUTE AWESOME SERIES.
I am so HAPPY I found The Fixer & you will be too. I have paid full price for each book. Will continue to do so, Don't want this to end. Wonderful Narrator & Author!

good book, always leaves you wanting more

love this series. Lydia, the main character is well developed. I like her character - interesting, intelligent and nuanced. Keeps the reader engaged. This book Lydia is still conflicted with herself and what's she's done in the past and more bouts of self-loathing but she is able to curb her self mutilation this time. I don't really like this aspect of her personality, the self-loathing and conflicted Lydia but we all have personality quirks, it adds to her realness. I enjoy the confidant Dr. and the badass vigilante trying to right the wrongs of the world. I hope her character will find peace with her past (I'd like to see a book out on that, not the glimpses we see but the whole sordid mess) as well as with who she is in the present. For those that have suffered abuse and self-loathing it would be a light of hope that you can overcome your past.

Excellent!!

This was the last book in the series. I'm glad I started with book one. You learned a more in depth background of the Fixer in book two and three but starting at the beginning is best.
I will definitely read more books by Woods. The narrator was excellent.

WOW what twists

Just as good, thrilling as the first two books, the author doesn't let you down, you have a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. Morts daughter is in the mix, she sure knows how to pull the wool over daddies eyes but not over Lydia eyes. When Mort needs someone to keep his daughter safe where else would he take her, the safest place is with the fixer but who is going to keep Lydia safe. This is one twisted evil daughter and daddy is about to get his eye open. I really like the twists and turns the author gives, throwing in a few heart stopping moments to keep it all exciting. Trixie is something else, I did have a little trouble working out who she was but what a great character.

I found this to be a great listen which I had trouble putting down, the author knows how to pull the listener in, and the wonderful narrator hooks you from the start with her many different character voices, you always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. The narrator gives true emotion, making you feel the characters pain, sorrow and joy. There was no repeating of words, no volume change, no background noise, just a very clear audio that I got lost in. The narrator has a very pleasant normal voice that I could listen to all day.

Another great story and narration!

I am loving this series, they seem to start out a bit slow but pick up and get really good. There are some really great lead characters.

I really enjoy the psychological mystery and suspense in these books. I love Lydia! She is awesome. This is the third book in the series and they are NOT cliffhanger books. I am happy about that. There is a lot of dialogue throughout the entire book. Strong characters and a great story lines and plot. There is more than one story going on at the same time so I like that a lot. Its better than one long drawn out story with a bunch of fillers. So this is great for me.

As for the narration, its super. Chrisina Delaine does a great job! The men sound like men, everyone gets a voice and she has a very nice reading voice.

I hope the next book comes out on audible soon, I will totally be buying it.
