About this listen

American Ben Kamal is a Detroit police detective whose police training makes him valuable to the new Palestinian police force on the West Bank. He's glad to help - but hooking up with the Israelis to find a serial killer was not part of the deal. Danielle Barnea is the best that Shin Bet, Israel's FBI, has to offer, but she, too, resists the assignment. Now Ben and Danielle are forced to leave personal differences behind as they realize that something much more complex than murder is behind the killings.

I liked the story and the reader has a great voice but his choice to make so many of the characters into cartoon caricatures was so distracting that I couldn’t finish the book.

Good story, reader needs to rethink approach

Narrator was too intense all the way through the book. Needs to mix it up.

Amazing characters that wrap you up on a story of betrayal and intrigue as nothing is as simple as it seems. You will want more from these characters.

The narrator made this tedious to listen to.
Many of his voices for characters are artificial, and the delivery was repetitive with the same cadence, intensity and tone paragraph after paragraph, making it hard to follow the story. The story itself was interesting, but the narration was tedious.

The narrator. . .

Dreadful narration of blatantly pro-Palestinian political propaganda. If this is the sort of "fiction" Audible intends to offer, I might have to qreconsider my membership.

Garbage

The story is not the worst I've listened to. I still couldn't finish it.

The narration is painful. it's like he graduated from the William Shatner school of over acting.

Don't, just dont.

I really had to push myself to finish this. I don't like giving mediocre reviews, and much less bad reviews, but this book was rough. It was way too over-the-top. The plot was fine but the story itself made me think of a 15 year old trying to create the next Marvel film. I also did not care for the narrator. The "voices" were a bit ridiculous, to the point that some of his characters sounded like he was trying to mimic a voice changer/ disguiser.

Nope

Narrator not good. For this story involving Americans and Middle East characters, a better narrator is definitely needed. These voices were not believable and chose not to listen to last 8+ hours.

Didn’t finish
