Publisher's summary

Four Weddings and a Funeral meets The Wedding Party in Katy Birchall's The Wedding Season: when a recently jilted bride is forced to attend seven weddings in one summer, her friends devise a series of challenges as distraction.

Freya Scott is getting married. Her wedding to Matthew, her long-term boyfriend, is the first of eight in her calendar this year, and as someone who prides herself on being meticulously organized, Freya is intent on making it the perfect day to remember.

But when Matthew calls things off hours before they walk down the aisle, Freya’s entire life plan goes up in smoke. Humiliated and heartbroken, the last thing she wants is to attend a summer of other peoples’ nuptials on her own.

Fortunately, her friends have an idea: together they devise a series of outrageous challenges for Freya to complete at each event, designed to distract her from Matthew and what might have been. From getting stuck in an old church bathroom and needing to be rescued by the vicar to making out with a barman at a French chateau, Freya realizes that despite herself, she might just be having fun.

By the time the final wedding arrives, she will discover that the road to a happy ending sometimes has unexpected detours, that “I do” is only the beginning–and that perhaps her own love story isn’t over just yet.

Funny and relatable

Emotionally relatable and likeable characters. No raunch like so many books lately. Just a story about a woman who was wronged and her journey to find her joy again.

Loved this

Love, heartbreak and healing comes in many ways but, with the support of friends & family - fun & forgiveness is sure to bring you peace and joy. This story covered many life’s lessons with upbeat, realistic and inspiring words. Friendship and family are the two most important things in life. I hope to see this made into a movie someday.

Absolutely LOVE this narrator!!

A good, humorous story about a woman jilted at the altar and her journey to find herself as well as be able to live again. Katy Birchall does not disappoint.

I loved everything about this book. It was written well, the narrator or audio was good and I cannot wait for the next book whenever it’s coming. Just a fun summer read!

Wow! Another wonderfully, clever book!

Both books available in Audible by this author, are very well written! A novel written to sincerely engage the reader and embrace them with wit and intellect, not rubbish.

The Wedding Season

This book was so fun! I was looking forward to my commute everyday so I could find out what happened next. The characters were all so lovable and the narrator did an excellent job making sure all the characters had distinct voices. Katy Birchall knows how to write a fantastic romcom!

Starts slow but gets better

This book starts out really slow and actually quite depressing. But the pace picks up once the weddings starts, and there are several LOL moments. Hang in there. It’s quite cute in the end.

Good chick lit!

I liked the book, thought the narrator was really good, I only gave it 3 stars for story because it was so predictable. Still a good, easy, n the car listen.
