About this listen

Wolf dreams.

Bob Duke dreamed of becoming a wolf. Of running free on four strong legs. Howling. Stalking. Living with nature, in nature.

Then his dream came true - and threatened to become a nightmare.

Bob's wife and son vow to restore his humanity. But even if then can find him - a man-wolf loose in the concrete forests of Manhattan - will he even want to become human again?

Once set free, no cage can hold back...the wild.

Transcendent Genre Fiction! The Best Kind!

Umm... YES! More books like this, please! This is a werewolf story like Kafka's Metamorphosis, not accidentally referenced many times in this book, is a giant bug story. Genre books are often on autopilot, with the best of them occasionally lifting out of the formula to only hint at something inspiring. This one reverses the trend. It's solid inspiration, with the tropes necessary to be included in a genre only occasionally being touched on. It's just damn good writing. Totally original. Reminds me of the great novels of Philip K. Dick that were based more deeply on a personal truth than cranking out another sci-fi tale.

This is my second Streiber book but it certainly won't be my last! The last book was The Wolfen, which was also good but not nearly as good as this.

Not a Werewolf story BUT a great Family story

If you're going into this novel looking for a werewolf novel or something like The Wolfen, then you will be disappointed. This is a story about finding yourself, it is not a horror story at all but a family story with all drama, action, comedy, and a little bit of violence. All in all this is a great story about a father who finds out who he truly is. It made me laugh,it made me go wow and at the end it made tears well up. I highly recommend this!

Nope.

Remember the Shaggy Dog movie? Throw a sprinkle blood in it and you've got yourself this book. Just not scary enough for me.
