Anyone can be a hero

We loved that as Bodkin was about to overcome and be a hero! We are just flying through this book series. We cannot put it down and are having so much fun together as a family. Who needs tv when there are books like this!?

Story and performance were great

I don’t know why they added generic sound effects. They detracted from the story every time.
The book itself was great and David Tennant’s reading couldn’t be better.

Funny and Scary and Perfect for ALL!

This is a review that encompasses the first 3 books in the series. Terrific engaging story perfectly read by David Tennant who's sometimes over-the-top acting could not be better suited. I marvel at his varied voices and particularly fell in love with Squeezejuice and I bet I'm not alone in that. I do not normally burn credits on books less than 12 hours long and I have purchased all of this series. Now I am both anxious and thrilled to move on to the last(?). Highly recommend for lovers of fairytales of ALL ages.

Performance overshadows the story

Tennant is worth the price, even for us experienced listeners. Cowell is just as witty as ever. But were it not for Tennant, the story would not rate equal space with Deltora Quest (Rodda). But good for readers who have trouble remembering what happened in the previous chapter, preferring instead a parade of jokes. Once a child outgrows that, then they might be ready for the "chronicles" stories: Prydain and Narnia.

Awesome.

Great little series, I relistened to the first two books before I dived into this one and I don’t regret it at all. This is a delightful story. Admittedly the first two books were better than this one, but this one was still wonderful, and I can’t wait for the next book to come out on audio. Now I have an urge to relisten to the How to Train a Dragon series as that one will always be one of my favorite series. Narrator is awesome as usual.
