About this listen

"A powerful, generous and unforgettable book." (Seth Godin)

"A wondrous lens on healing ourselves and our world in this strangest and hardest of times." (Krista Tippett)

We are all born with the wonder switch in the "on" position, but somewhere along the way, our wonder is crushed. And that's when we begin to live out of a self-limiting mindset that shuts down our sense of possibility and purpose. Yet reclaiming your wonder - and with it, your life - is within reach.

In The Wonder Switch, join world-renowned storyteller and professional illusionist Harris III in a journey to bring you back to the magic you fear you've lost - not the sleight of hand he performs across world stages, but real magic: Love, hope, joy, belonging, meaning, and purpose.

One of wonder's greatest powers is that it changes the stories we tell ourselves, writes Harris. With the help of his power-packed Transformation Map, you'll gain the tools you need to switch from the old story that leaves you unfulfilled to the new story that will make you a healthier, happier, all-around better human being.

In this book, you'll discover:

  • The surprising science behind the stories we tell ourselves and how they shape our lives
  • Practices for "righting" your story from a broken narrative to a restored narrative
  • The secret to breaking out of a limiting mindset and developing a wonder mindset
  • Practices for moving from complacency to curiosity
  • Why worry is a misuse of your imagination, and how to kick the habit

"Narrating with sincerity, natural pacing, and a gentle tone, the author - a professional magician and personal growth guru - is a humble person whom listeners will like and respect." (Audiofile Magazine)

Opportunity knocks..

I love how the author is the narrator. It makes the book that much more personal. This is one of those books that I will always want to come back and listen to, because of the valuable content it contains. Looking forward to finding my wonder again.

A powerful story that provoked my own wonder

The idea of wonder isn't something adults often focus on and yet, throughout the book I found ways that rediscovering my wonder will impact my own life as well as the clients I coach.

I also really appreciate the way the author weaved the struggle we face in burying our wonder with his own journey to rediscover his.

Wonder Switch: On.

Harris reminds us of something important, yet forgotten: the powerful childlike mindset that allows us to live a most fulfilling life.

WONDER full

Some of this book was expected (Because I met the author, saw his show, and read the cover), but I was not prepared for the honest, personal storytelling that challenged me to consider the “stories“ I have been telling myself based on what I have experienced in life. Great book. I would recommend for any adult or older teenager.

It’s not presented as a quick fix.

I liked the practical application and the realness with which he presented this topic. Also the willingness to share that he loses touch with his awe from time to time. It’s always in evolution and the importance of trust in yourself to find it again.

What a marvelous book. Full of emotions and concepts to deepen my wonder thinking and how to be a Wonder based leader. Chapters 8&9 are worth listening to several times. Thank you Harris for your sincerity, vulnerability and absolute best!
