About this listen

Don’t miss the first book in an addictive new serial novella trilogy brimming with suspense, dark humor, and romance! Meet the Youngbloods, an unforgettable family of antiheroes.

The Youngbloods are a mafia-like demon family, sent as a sinister advance team to prepare Earth for an infernal invasion. But when something goes wrong, the demon invasion never comes and the Youngbloods are stuck on crappy Earth with the worst creatures in the world—each other.

Petra Youngblood is the family’s hunter. Her job: to track and kill the annual human sacrifice that keeps the Youngbloods immortal. Otherwise, they will crumble to dust. But as Petra is hunting down this year’s sacrifice, a man named Killian Irons, she breaks the first demonic rule. The one rule so forbidding, nobody else in her family has ever dared to break it...she falls in love.

Interested with joy

Suspiciously entertaining and fun to follow the characters as they understand themselves and the mysteries head of them.

Liked but not loved

It’s interesting and fresh and dark and even amusing by turns. Honestly the only reason I didn’t give it a higher score is that it doesn’t quite suck me in. Little hard to relate The to the cast I suppose.

quite entertaining

At speed 1.2 the audio is perfect and that's how I was able to enjoy the narration. It ended too soon if you ask me 😊

pretty good.

overall good. I just don't like the obvious romance angle this story is building towards. the human is a corny person. at the end he does something horrendous to me. If that was my brother. i wouldn't run off with him. I'm probably not listening to the second one. for the simple fact of the romance angle. i already know it is building for the second one. not interested in stupid crap like that. somebody kills your brother. you don't later fall in love with them.

Ready for more!

This story helped me get in the mood for Halloween. While not terribly unpredictable, I enjoyed it. I now want to hear the next story I the series. Nice cliff hanger.

Quick

This was a fun, quick listen. Nix seems like an annoying but fun kid-adult! Lol

Adams Family values- but with demons?

With all three parts of this story available in Audible Plus, this was an entertaining listen. I wouldn’t purchase these, however, except perhaps if they were offered together for a single price because these are not standalone stories. This is one story separated by cliffhangers.

Part 1’s vibe is mostly Adams Family, with each quirky “evil” family member getting a POV chapter or two. They talk big about their nefarious plans for Earth, but variously do “good” deeds for select humans.

I was entertained by the power moves and larger mystery surrounding grandma demon Oro.
The romance didn’t really work, except at a basic comic book level, although it grew on me by part 3.

This would almost be a listen fit for teens and even tweens except for a few things:
- There’s torture, death and dismemberment. It’s comic book level, but these acts don’t fade to black
- There’s talk of domestic abuse, sex, and affairs. These are fade to black, but are still adult concepts
- There’s cussing, including F bombs, sh!ts, GDs, and As, especially in the first 15 minutes.
The cussing calms down to one or two utterances every other chapter, but it feels as if the authors think throwing down some F bombs makes things funny. I would have preferred smarter humor.

- The next part ups the F bombs and the sex, going from Adams Family kooky black humor to more Deadpool dysfunction.
