Publisher's summary

Understand history's most enigmatic serial killer.

In December of 1968, a serial killer began orchestrating a campaign of terror in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not satisfied with the simple act of murder, he taunted law enforcement and the public by writing letters to local newspapers. Through often cryptic and bizarre content - including four ciphers, three of which have never been solved - the psychopath played a twisted game. Reporters dubbed the man the "Cipher Killer", but the murderer chose a different name for himself: The Zodiac. Eventually, he would claim to have murdered 37. Law enforcement, however, could only account for five.

In 1971, authenticated communications with the Zodiac ceased. The elusive fugitive resurfaced briefly three years later, sending a small number of communiqués, before disappearing for good. What started out with shocking abruptness slowly dissolved into mysterious uncertainty. To this day, the Zodiac's true identity remains one of the twentieth century's greatest mysteries...

In Volume 1 of The Zodiac Revisited, Michael reviews the facts of the case, building a foundation for the analysis that follows in Volumes 2 and 3.

Outstanding!

I've read a few takes on Zodiac. This is the most chilling, detailed account. Scared me out of my wits!

Excellent unbiased telling of the facts

The author refreshingly doesn't claim to know who the killer was. He simply lists the facts of the case based on the solid evidence that we know. You are left to make up your own mind as to where the evidence leads you.

Solid Fact Based Review of Case

This is the most current review of the Zodiac crimes. It is an overview of the facts of the case with no significant speculation or opinions. Good summary worth a listen if you’re looking for a general breakdown of the facts of the case.

Excellent

Having read both of the Graysmith books, I was a bit reluctant to start another book on Zodiac.

I found Volume 1 extremely informative and highly interesting! There were numerous details and findings I had never heard before. Thank you for this excellent book! On to Volume 2….

Just the facts.

I’ve long searched for a fact based Zodiac book. This was it. Well researched and full of details. Found out facts that I never knew about the case and individual crimes that were committed or may have been committed by the Zodiac. I look forward to volume two.

Comprehensive review of the case

Cole did a tremendous job in reviewing the evidence without relying on personal opinions or leading the reader to a particular conclusion. It was a welcome change from the numerous books on the Zodiac that turn attention to the author as opposed to the case itself.
