About this listen

The last thing gluten-free baker Poppy McAllister needs in her life is more drama - or more murder....

Poppy thought her toughest challenge this winter would be sticking to her Paleo diet and filling all her orders for her gluten-free goodies, but now she has to choose between two suitors. She's not the only one with boyfriend drama. Aunt Ginny's long-ago high-school beau, Royce Hanson, a retired Broadway actor, has returned to Cape May, New Jersey, to star in a Senior Center staging of Mamma Mia. Leaving Aunt Ginny to wonder: What's his motivation?

Slated to open February 13th, the problem-plagued production seems to be cursed - with stolen props, sabotage, and even a death threat. But when a cast member plunges to his death from a catwalk, it soon becomes clear a murderer is waiting in the wings. Now Polly, Aunt Ginny, and a supporting cast must take center stage to catch the killer - before it's curtains for someone else....

Fun; relatable characters , good story

This was my 2nd listen in the series. I find Poppy to be so relatable and enjoy the characters very much. I have found myself laughing out loud on a handful of occasions with each book. These stories definitely hold my attention throughout, and I have enjoyed the first 2 cliffhangers.

Theater Nights Are Murder

Does Poppy have a curse? Will she exclusively date someone? The characters are still fun and the murder mystery is always interesting. On to the next book!

so much happening and all of it LOL

The book is just as funny as the rest of them. You get pulled in so many directions and experience so much emotion to go along with all the crazy commotion that there is no boring bits. It happens to be so funny that we don't recommend chewing or drinking through huge portions- unless your sofa has ScotchGuard or your desk is paper and computer free. Trust me on this! Brilliant writing and delivery.

Love the snarky humor!

Poppy’s, and her aunt’s, snarky humor had me laughing out loud. I was always waiting for it, but sometimes it snuck up on me. It irritates me a bit when Poppy is oblivious to and ignores slap you in the face clues. Then she gets the obscure clues? The proof reader’s hand should be slapped. Was it Christopher or Charles? Hmmmmm. Beaulieu adds to the humor through her narration, but every so often uses the wrong voice and switches to 5he correct one mid-sentence. Overall, I’m throughly enjoying this series.
