About this listen

I couldn’t kill Mara…

But that doesn’t mean Shaw won’t.

She’s living in my house, always with me, always under my control.

The more I push her, the more she pushes back.

She’s peeling away my secrets, one by one. And I’m tempting her to do things she never thought she’d do….

Shaw won’t stop hunting her.

When the time comes to act, will Mara be ready?

The Lark Notes:
I was so pleased how many women identified with Mara’s character--with her sensory issues and history of trauma. It sounds crazy to call this an “inspirational story of murder”, but at the end of part two, I hope you will indeed feel inspired by Mara’s journey. — Sophie

There Is No Devil is the second half of the Sinners Duet. Listener be warned: This is a dark and steamy serial killer romance that may be triggering to some.

A Match Made in Heaven

What a crazy rollercoaster ride this duet has been. I may have a love/hate relationship with these characters but I do love their story. Cole and Mara are definitely an interesting couple. I would say they are a match made in heaven. This book had me captivated from beginning to end. If you like psycho serial killers and an original storyline and don't have any triggers, then I highly recommend this duet. Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz both did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Enjoyed

Strong ending to this duology. The middle is a little slow, but the ending makes up for it. A dark take on female empowerment, self discovery and self-awareness/forgiveness. Recommend this series.

Captivating conclusion

I dove right in to this one. I was anticipating the final book in this duet and the author did not disappoint. The narrators, Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz once again reprised their roles and they did a phenomenal job. This conclusion is steamy, full of suspense and utterly captivating. I devoured every word and could wait to get to the end. Such a captivating duet!

Amazing Conclusion!!

Holy moly!!! What an epic conclusion for this duet! I absolutely enjoyed Cole and Mara and their twisted story. I loved the suspense and pacing of the story and felt the chemistry between them.

The audio was fantastic! It was dual narrated and Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz delivered stellar audio performances that added an addition layer of depth to this suspenseful story.

Satisfying End

Mara Eldritch is brazen, brave and a bit unhinged, the perfect counterpart for a psychopath. Don’t you think. She and Cole carry the second book, as is fitting, since they are the anti-heroes of this story. Allister Shaw, on the other hand, falls even flatter in book two than he does in book one. Obviously, there is something not right with his mind, but it’s how absolutely pathetic he is that makes the book less compelling for me than it had the potential to be. He’s less sinister and more desperate of a villain than the combined power and intellect Cole and Mara deserve. Still, I was thoroughly satisfied by the team effort involved in taking him down, even if much of the plot strains the bounds of credulity. As for the narration, it works just as well this time around despite my personal dislike of the voices.

Thank you to Pink Flamingo Productions and Sophie Lark for gifting me with this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Sad It's Over

The plot and spice were both great. I just finished it, and I'm already bummed there isn't another book. Mara and Cole somehow burrowed their way into my heart, no doubt. Is it dark and twisted? Yes. Did I love it anyways? Also yes...
