About this listen
The road to Hell is paved with Yellow Bricks....
I was perfectly single and content up until the wild winds brought me to this strange world of Oz. Suddenly I'm a hero who killed a wicked witch, and my dog, Toto, is startlingly human: a tall, gorgeous, dark-haired one at that, who's ready to ruthlessly protect me from all of the strange creatures along the Yellow Brick Road.
Then the scarecrow showed up, a so called tin man, and a "lion." They all want something from me, and I don't know if I can give it to them. Not with the Wicked Witch of the West hot on my ruby red heels. My only hope is that this Wizard everyone keeps talking about will break all of our curses. If he doesn't, I may just have to take matters into my own hands. Then they'll all be sorry.
At least I'll be getting some cute shoes out of it.
There's No Place Like Oz is a reimagining of Wizard of Oz with a reverse harem twist. This darker, grittier version of a classic tale will keep you as on edge as our heroine, with touches of horror and lots of heat amidst the twisted romance. You'll love it if you prefer your enemies to lovers and your friends to lovers romances with multiple possessive, morally gray love interests who love to put their "good girl" to the test.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Very pleased.
I got to listen to this for free so I was skeptical at first, but as soon as she landed in Wichita, KS, (which is where I'm from and live), i was pulled in. I love the narrators. the male narrators voice is delicious to listen too. I like the take on the Wizard of OZ the author does. I LOVE me a reverse harem book. It is definitely dark, so read trigger warnings first. loved all the characters.

Love this series
I love when an author can tell a polyamorous stories with a reverse harem and especially a dark romance at that.
I received an advance listening copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’ve read some retelling of Oz but this one has been the best. Dorothy getting to help others fix themselves while getting to enjoy them fully. I love the way the romance is written and the characters in my opinion get there HEA while still enjoying each other’s company.

oz dark romance retelling
this is the second installment in the vicious wonders series. I found the series when the first book was first coming out and I have fallen head over heels in love with it since then. in this retelling of Oz it starts off with a little bit of backstory but enough to really give you a sense of the characters and then goes more traditional for a moment on how she gets to Oz. from that point on though you will feel the original storyline playing in the background and know what's coming next but with a completely new way that you would never expect how it plays out. it has spice ,action, romance ,learning to know yourself and learning to be stronger. the female main character comes from a messed up past were she was abused and made to feel worthless and learns how to have her voice again. she finds her true fated mates along with almost like a monster romance. but with the original Lions, scarecrow , tin Man and Toto everyone's favorite little dog. but there is nothing little and cute about these men. they are hot, strong feisty men who will back up her in every turn and make you dream of being thire Dorothy. you go along with their quest to free oz of it's evil tyrants. I don't like to give spoilers so I won't embellish on that but each one is a new lesson learned and you get to hear the whole backstory on each of the villains and you get to find out secrets and twist all the way through the book so the book never gets stale. it's got a great pace from beginning to end. it just keeps moving forward and you're always dying to know what happens next. I have consumed this in one sitting and just binge the whole book on a day off. I absolutely love this series and this book and her new audiobook of it is absolutely phenomenal. I love that it's dual spoken and each of them were perfectly cast to play the different characters and it comes out just like I pictured in my head when I'm reading the paperback. There is absolutely something for everyone in this audiobook. Just please remember to watch your triggers because this is a dark romance. ❤️
