About this listen

The Daymakers were the hottest alt-rock band since the nineties, the masked members making fans swoon at the very thought of who might be hiding under the skull masks. Known only by their stage names—Royal, Hero, Poet and Knight—their real identities were a carefully held secret.

I was third-generation white trash who had no value to society. That was a direct quote from my guidance counselor, by the way. She wasn't wrong, not really. My mom had Oded, and my dad was in prison. I had no one and nothing.

Our paths should never have crossed. But by a weird twist of fate—and the flying fists of my ex-boyfriend—I ended up in the wrong place at the right time. Hiding from my ex beneath a tour bus, I was a convenient solution to an ongoing problem for the tour company.

They needed their band members to stop screwing random groupies and risking the anonymity which brought in millions of dollars for both the band and the label.

I needed to get the hell away from LA and earn enough money to have a fresh start.

I was taking back my future, and if that meant going on tour across the country as a glorified toy for the pleasure of some masked rockstars, then it was my choice.

Unfortunately, the demons of my past werent done with me yet.

THE DAYMAKERS is a standalone why choose, rockstar romance. This book contains sensitive topics. Trigger warnings are available on the author's website.

Spicy with a great story.

The voice actors were perfect. I loved the plot I wished it was longer. Being immersed in the rock world with these characters left me up all night to finish this one!

The voice acting is TOP NOTCH

The story itself was lovely. I love my smut with a good plot. And she delivered. James Cassidy never disappoints. But the execution in the voice acting *chefs kiss* I honestly wish it was longer or there were other books because it was such an easy world to fall into!

The more the merrier!

Loved this more than I thought I would. Multicast style narration is the best! It really pulls you into the story. Great plot and the perfect amount of spice.

Terrific reverse harem rockstar romance in Duet!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Duet Narration

The heroine: Charlotte (a.k.a. Lottie) - she was white trash and was told so more than once in her life. She thought she had it made when she fell for an attorney, those she missed a lot of red flags with him. Like the fact that he hadn’t let her work, and made it so her only friends were his friends. So when Tom starts pushing her around, it doesn’t surprise her. Charlotte didn’t expect to be beat so badly in a dark alley one night after Tom took some kind of drug in the bathroom of the bar where they were drinking. She gets away from him and runs, knowing he would kill her if he caught her.

The Heroes: Royal, Poet, Knight, Hero - They are the band called The Daybreakers, Their gimmick is that they play in masks, so really nobody knows who they are. They are famous and the females really loved them, even if they never took off the masks for anyone but a small inner circle. Management has been pretty tired of having to get random women to sign NDA’s and paying out a lot of money to women who accidentally saw behind the masks and threatened to tell all.

The Story: Charlotte runs from Tom and is able to get into the private area outside a stadium where a concert is going on. She hides underneath a tour bus and after Tom is turned away by a security guard, she is found by that same guard named Shep, who was nice to her. The people from the tour find her and take care of her overnight. She was planning to get off on their stop in Las Vegas, when the tour manager shows his frustration at the way the band has been womanizing and costing them problems. She suggests an unconventional solution to both of their situations.

I wasn’t too fond of the way Charlotte ended up with the band. I though it was basically prostitution and I like heroines with a bit more self respect and pride. Though it basically seemed like Charlotte’s background and lack of education were used as a way to make what she was doing a much better option than any other she had available. I did like the fact that Charlotte didn’t know the band and wasn’t a big fan of them before ending up near their bus. Though the way she talked about all the bad things that had happened to her in her life made her sound like she was trying to justify her choices.

Some of they guys weren’t much better in the way they treated her. Especially Royal, who called her a toy and treated her as such. The character of Shep (band manager and head of security) was a bit of a conundrum throughout much of this, he was kind and seemed to connect with Charlotte before any of the guys in the band, and he definitely had a crush on her. He was about ten years older than the guys, but had been with them for years and was good friends with all of them, so I wasn’t sure if he was going to end up in the harem or what.

The characters were fantastic, I liked Shep and Poet the best, but all the guys had different personalities. I also liked that they each had some back stories behind their masks. The main conflict in the story with Charlotte’s ex boyfriend was pretty good as well and the entire book held my interests in different ways. I liked the fact that they had to make a big decision about their future and it wasn’t just about their feelings for Charlotte.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in duet narration by Alexis Paige, Grayson Owens, James Cassidy and Theo Sinclair. I loved the fact that this was done in duet and that there were different narrators for each of the main characters. I also loved the fact that each of the male narrators had different, but sexy voices.

Love listening to one of my favorite stories!

I read The Daymakers before the audiobook was available. I loved it. When I realized the audio version was available with multiple narrators, I jumped at the chance to own it. The audiobook did not disappoint. They did a fabulous job with the story. I love their voices and will be looking for more books they have narrated.
