Publisher's summary

In this madcap tale from the bestselling author of Dumped, Actually, two’s company for Jake and his bestie Sy. But three? A disaster!

Jake Carlisle is living his best life, thanks to the crazily successful influencer channel he created with his best friend Sy. Reviewing whacky hobbies and adrenaline-fuelled adventures, Sy has pushed Jake into doing more exciting stuff than either ever thought possible. Then disaster strikes.

When newbie Helena joins the team, Sy quickly falls head over heels for her…All of a sudden, with romance blossoming and the business dynamic shifting, Jake is horrified to find himself becoming the dreaded third wheel.

Being the odd one out was not what he signed up for. And he’ll do anything to get his best friend back—even if that involves a little light sabotage, an unhealthy amount of jealousy…and one very unfortunate pair of tartan Speedos.

Will Jake be relegated to the background from now on? Or will he finally learn to stand on his own two feet and succeed at getting his life—along with his friendship—back on track?

So good and hilarious!!

The narrator was amazing!! The story was so funny. I even had my 17 year old son laughing when he came in and said what are you listening too! This a definite winner. 🏆

I love the comradery the characters have

I would have like another chapter fast forwarded to a year later with them both happy with significant others.

Fun story about friendship

I loved how real the emotions felt in this. Opposites do tend to attract, but the timid/quiet one still needs to be heard for the friendship to last.

Meh

It was a hard one for me to get into until the last hour or so. Just OK, and a little weird at times.

Cute bromance, unclear about some aspects.

SPOILER ALERT *** I love Nick Spalding. Hands-down, he writes really amusing stories, however, this one confused me a little. I didn’t understand how a character could be introduced who could then just take over the business without any legal right to do so. And be spoken enough by both of the original founders as if she were an equal partner. Unless I missed something, there was never anything legal that would make that happen. This character was brought on as an employee. One of the characters even says at the end… “[character] can have it!” This is a business that the two of them have built up over a decade. Some of the philosophy is spot on, but no one would do this.

I laughed a lot

I enjoyed the silliness of Jake. I enjoyed the story. I thought the narrator did an excellent job with the different characters, their voices, and the expressiveness of each one. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Is Nick Losing His Touch?

I've always loved Nick's books and found almost all of them hilarious, but this one is not funny, overly chatty, and boring. Where is the old, clever Spaulding who made us howl with laughter?

Very basic

This is extremely basic with no real plot line to speak of. I kept waiting for something with substance and it never materialized.

I love Spaulding, but this is a thumbs down

I love this author, but I couldn’t get through this one. So dragged out and boring.
