About this listen

From the bestselling author of Fat Chance and Checking Out comes a hilarious story about giving up…but definitely not giving in.

Kate and Scott’s marriage has always been a lot of fun, with alcohol at the heart of it. After all, what’s more entertaining than a good laugh and a large drink…or six?

But recently, those relaxing drinks have become more crutch than comfort - and the couple have almost forgotten how to talk to each other sober.

Then their teenage daughter Holly uploads a video of their humiliating drunken escapades, which gets picked up by YouTube superstar PinkyPud - and goes horrifyingly viral.

In a last-ditch attempt to prove to the world they’re more than just boozy idiots, Kate and Scott quit alcohol completely. But with Holly’s… er… ‘help’, what begins as a family promise soon escalates into a social media phenomenon: #DryHard!

With the eyes of the Internet upon them, can Kate and Scott stay teetotal - and save their marriage in the process?

Don't know why 3 narrators were used. The Scott voice was too casual. Also thought it implausible in parts; knowing drinking would be required, company should have had watered down "entertaining" booze.
Writing was choppy, but had some good Spalding fun at times.
Wouldn't recommend it.

Mediocre

I have read all of his books and laughed out loud through each one. Highly recommend!

Love Nick Spalding.

Again, a very fun, easy listen. Also, perfectly narrated as well. Sit back and enjoy some laughs.

Spaulding Never Disappoints!

Laughing out loud at inappropriate times inducing book. The situations get more insane but remain credible.

Those poor people. Remarkable character development that stays in character during the worst possible clusters. And clusters abound.

Great book. Spend your credit on this one. I'll have this one on replay soon.

Flipping Funny

Two drunks and their lives of alternately being drunk and sober. Neither character was someone you would want as a friend. Quite frankly a waste of my time.

Unrealistic and unbelievable

Yeah Nick, good story! This one has some funny moments and I was definitely all in for the farce with the social media BS.
Kate & Scott having a rough patch was very relatable and almost seemed like people I could know in the real world.

The ending was kinda wobbly but it didn't detract from the story at all.

Would recommend.

I liked this book a lot. Even if you hate it—before you stop or return it, listen to chapter 7 about the yoga or wait the Krav Maga class
I laughed so hard I cried. I even played it for my husband and grown son (lots of language)
It can be heard out of context. It is a story unto itself. Narrators are great

Lots of laughs

I have never written a review before but I had to about this book. I usually love Nick Spaldings books but this one really got on my nerves. While there are some funny parts to this book, I thought the way the parents indulges their daughter to be very annoying. What child takes you tube stardom over their parents? Maybe I’m just too old but I don’t get it.

Aggravating

and I nearly quit the story. it had its funny moments, but if you have seen alcoholism up close, it's more sad than funny.
