About this listen

A hostage rescue specialist is on the trail of a homegrown terrorist organization in this thriller by the New York Times best-selling author.

When a cult-like paramilitary group decides to make its deadly presence known, the first victims are random. Ordinary citizens going about their lives in Washington, DC, are suddenly fired upon at rush hour by unseen assassins. Caught in the crossfire of one of the attacks, rescue specialist Jonathan Grave spies a gunman getting away - with a mother and her young son as hostages.

To free them, Grave and his Security Solutions team must enter the dark heart of a nationwide conspiracy. But their search goes beyond the frenzied schemes of a madman's deadly ambitions. This time, it reaches all the way to the highest levels of power....

Not any SpecOps Spouse I’ve Ever Met

SpecOps wife/mom is the least aware of PerSec (Personal Security) I’ve ever known. They are tough as nails and it is so frustrating to listen to such a whiney woman.

The son is a good character.

Otherwise story is good and action-packed.

NOVA locations

Like most DC related novels involving locations in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas.

One of the best action suspense novels

I've been trough dozens and dozens of action suspense novels. This may well be my favorite. The story stays on task and does not drag. Has just enough humor to garner a chuckle now and again.

Message that internal terrorism is more dangerous than Muslim extremists.

Even though the writing was well done and the narration was excellent, the story line premise that Islam isn't the worst treat to the world is wacko.

Great

Quick pace, great narrator, good storyline. The first part (with mother/son) was more engaging to me than the second because I cared about the characters. Loved the book tho. Didn’t put it down.

Love these hero’s!!

Basil Sands is a wonderful narrator and makes the story for me. Love the action and storyline. Very disappointed in Gunslinger, she came across as whiny and unlikeable. Hope Father Dom can help her.

Less arguing, bickering, and whining amongst the characters.

I very much like the author and previous books. However, just for my personal preferences, the story contained too much whining and bickering from the mother and son characters. It's annoying. On a side note, it's hard to believe a female on the FBI HRT. Just saying.
